Why isn't there a picture of the "derma stamp"? Is it just another variation on the dermaroller?
Colour me confused! |

The pictures were on the first link...you can't see the girl's scar before and after treatment? |

I even did a search on google trying to find a picture of the darn thing...there isn't one out there anywhere!
Apparently it is much smaller than the roller, and I would venture to guess that it probably only contains a couple of needles...maybe like a diabetic fingertip lancet?
Hmmm...now there is an idea. Can't you control the needle length on some of those? But the problem is that they then suction up some of your blood. But I do like the concept of clicking a pen and having a little needle shoot in if you have an isolated scar.
Too bad that my lines are FAR too big for anything like that! |

Or we could just use sewing needles like Foxe did which has almost eradicated her lip line. I think I might try that for a couple of lines I have. |

I assume this is much too small to be used on stretchmarks. |

No idea...there is no info available online regarding avilability. My guess is that it won't be out for quite some time. |

Those are some awesome results!!
Now, if I could only get the courage up (along w/ my new Emla Cream) and target the remaining lip lines.
I'll keep the roller for the bigger areas. |

I am betting that the Derma-Stamp has just a couple of needles, but with a very short handle...like a push pin.
But for isolated acne scars, shouldn't these permanent makeup needles with multiple needles on the end work the same way?

I'm guessing that it's similar to the roller, but instead of being round, maybe it's flat and has a spring device that you push down on to the skin in a vertical movement. I'm just surmising, of course - but there's no reason why the roller wouldn't be just as effective. The results are very impressive. |

< shuddering at the idea of using sewing needles on my sensitive lipline >
I think Foxe is a very tough lady!
Then again, it probably would work! (But, I'm far too much of a klutz to use needles on my face - I'd probably poke myself in the eye) Then there would be all the embarrassment of trying to explain to the ER doctor why I poked myself...
"Well, you see - I was trying to get rid of this one tiny wrinkle and..." |

No one has seen one yet.
I did read on the dermaroller blog that Dr. Liebl will send one free of charge to your dermatologist if you have a significant scar, but wants before and after pictures taken by your derm in exchange. He will only mail them to doctors. |

Miss Tina found some new info on the DermaStamp...it does contain multiple needles.
It sounds very similar to the permanent makeup needles I posted above.
Quote: |
The DermaStamp is a SINGLE USE surgical instrument, possibly one of the smallest ever invented. The average rate of atrophic scar improvement is 75%. The surgical stainless steel needles have a diameter of only 0.12 mm at a length of 2.0 mm (depending on desired therapy, smaller version down to 0.1 mm needle length are available in special request). The needle sharpness and needle arrangement guaranty easy pricking with minimal penetration forces <50 grams. The DermaStamp is only available to licensed skin professionals. International patents pending.

This is exactly what I was thinking, however with a spring loaded handle that would be able to be adjusted to what depth you need. I am very curious about this device. I am sure that it would be a better idea to use this for those spot treatments than to risk causing damage to the under-layers of your dermis by rolling the whole thing improperly (which I imagine some of us could/are be doing). |
