I bought a product from EDS that contains Azelaic acid for left-over marks from acne, redness and occasional breakouts. It worked like a charm! I was about to leave a glowing review about it until last week...
I developed a "Toonie"-sized cyst (about 3 cms wide) on my right cheek, which is hard as rock and VERY painful. The last time I suffered from cystic acne was 5 years ago!
I've been thinking very carefully and I'm sure I have not used anything new that blocks pores or eaten anything I'm allergic to.
Now, the product I used (Benev) has alcohol as the main ingredient. Could this be it?
I'm very worried about the mark this will leave and hope I won't get anymore!
p.s. any advice on what to do now?! |

I just wanted to follow up my last message.
I was lucky enough to see a dermatologist today (very quick). She says what I have is not an acne cyst but a blocked salivary gland. I'm very unhappy about this, but at least it is not acne.
So, I guess Benev was not to blame after all. |
