Can anyone tell me if LAMAS LASH MASQUE is giving them good results? From checking around the forum, I see that Mabsy has been using it for a while and was quite happy, but I'd appreciate a followup. Right now I'm using the both the Talika Lipocils (twice/day) and Mavala Doublelash (at bedtime). I've been using them for about three weeks and am seeing some length and my lashes appear denser (translation: they look a lot thicker), but even though my lashes are dark brown, there's an annoying light spot at the very tip of the lashes that doesn't really enhance my new lash length so I'm thinking of trying the Lash Masque because of it's darkening properties and I'd like to hear if the coloring effect is really cumulative (i.e.: do your lashes look dark even when they are "naked") or is just like some really tricked-out mascara? I actually bought a kit and tinted my own lashes (just the tips, to get rid of the light spot) and while it wasn't that terribly difficult, the effect wasn't quite as dark as I remembered when I had my lashes tinted by a pro many years ago (I think the lash dye they used back then was a lot stronger than the stuff they sell nowadays) so I thought maybe the Lash Masque might be the answer. Also, can anyone recommend a clear mascara to enhance my new lush lashes so that they like glossy but natural (i.e.: my lashes, but better!)? Whew...this post turned out to be a little more involved than I originally intended, but I'd appreciate any info/advice that you can give. Thanks!! |

I have been using Lash Masque for about one month. I totally like it. I have medium brown hair and it give my lashes color. I also use it on my brows to fill in. What I like about Lash Masque is that it does not run below my eye. I think I am starting to notice a difference in the thickness of my lashes. As far a perm. color????? Can't answer you on that one as I have dark lashes. I do believe the color stays with you.
I use it night and day. If I chose to wear mascara I put it on under mascara. I have not tried this but read on another forum that you can also use it for eyeliner.
I will buy LM again. |

Well, it looks like I'll be learning the effectiveness of the Lash Masque a lot sooner than I originally thought! I figured I'd have to order it from someplace on-line because I figured there was no way I'd find any local retailers selling the Lamas products in my area. But I was pleasantly wrong. Yesterday I stopped by my local Whole Foods Market to see if they had any "natural" mascara (specifically, a clear mascara). It looked like I was destined to be disappointed when what should my wondering eyes discover?? I little unmarked display of what looked like ordinary mascara and lip balm. I picked one up just for the heck of it and my jaw dropped when I read the label "Lash Masque." But surely it wasn't the Lamas Lash Masque, I thought. But it was!! And you know what? It was about a dollar cheaper than the price I'd seen when I checked on-line! So I bought both the Lash Masque and Lip Enhancer, and I'm really liking both. Obviously it's too soon for me to report on the long-term effects of Lash Masque, but I really liked the way it darkened my lashes. The effect looked like mascara, but without being as "obvious." And the lip enhancer added this gorgeous pink, my-lips-but-better look to my mouth. Anyway, Winnie -- thanks for the vote of confidence on your Lash Masque experience...I might not have had the courage to purchase it myself yesterday without a little "push"!! |

Glad you bought it and I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think of it.
I'm happy with mine, I really like how it darkens my lashes without looking like I'm wearing mascara. I don't know about making eye lashes thicker anymore though. At the beginning I did see a difference but I think that has pretty much plateaued though. I'm still happy with it and use it every day. It's also good for eye brows (though I should REALLY get a separate tube for that I guess ). |

Hello, it's me again! Just wanted to add that I used the Lash Masque this morning and after it dried, I followed up with my heated eyelash curler (I HIGHLY recommend the Eyecurl, by the way!! Traditional eyelash curlers do absolutely nothing for me, but the Eyecurl is amazing...although I must admit that I never thought of simply using my forefinger to curl my lashes as a couple of posters have suggested under other topics) and it DID lock in a decent curl. I just wanted to point that out because I recall seeing a couple of Lash Masque reviewers (I think Mabsy might have been one of them) who said it didn't really hold a curl, so maybe the trick is to use a heated eyelash curler....Just wanted to share! |

Thanks, I'll give it a go. I actually do have a heated curler but have been a bit lazy with it. I'll give it a go tomorrow morning (if I can find some AAA batteries ). |

Kate.... I'm so glad to hear that the Lash Masque is available locally! I've been drooling over the thought of the Lash Masque for over a month, but just hadn't done an order. I would assume that it was cheaper than if you'd ordered online and paid shipping?
I wonder if SunHarvest might have it. We tend to go to SunHarvest more than Whole Foods just because of the location... more convenient to places we frequent.
Do you mind saying what you paid for it?... so I know how to compare if I find it someplace else?
Also, where did you find the heated eyelash curlers? That's another product I'd been wanting and looked for them several places, but hadn't come across them yet. Guess I'll have to make a trip to Austin!

Judy - I believe I paid around $16.99 for the Lash Masque at Whole Foods (183 @ 360). Since Sun Harvest also sells "all natural" products there is a good possibility that they carry it, too (hey, where is Sun Harvest now? My grandparents used to shop at the one formerly located around 183/Ohlen Rd, but I thought it had been gone for years...). When I got the Lash Masque and Lip Enhancer at Whole Foods, I remember thinking that the price was a little bit cheaper than the amount I'd seen quoted on the Lamas website, plus with the amount you're saving in postage, it's definitely worth a trip to Austin if you can't find it at Sun Harvest.
As for heated eyelash curlers...well, you can buy them locally (i.e.: Sephora, Walgreens in the "As Seen On TV" aisle displays/endcaps), but...I WOULDN'T WASTE MY MONEY!!! I'm completely serious. I bought all of the major brands of heated eyelash curlers (Talika, Japonesque, Sephora brand, some drugstore brand that I don't even remember the name of) and not a single one of them worked.
I hate using those old fashioned eyelash curlers because I invariably blink while "pinching" my lashes and nearly end up pulling them out by the roots! And all of the heated eyelash curler brands that I've tried were a complete rip off because, if they curled at all, my lashes would go limp again within seconds!!
My eyelashes are pretty thick, and have a decent curl on their own, but they are so bloody SHORT that I've found that my lashes appear to be all but invisible unless they are curled so that they stand up and out....I was so desperate to have curled eyelashes that I even went so far as to get them permed (yes, they can do that, although I didn't find out till afterwards that the practice is illegal for salons/stylists to perform in Texas!). One eye looked completely awesome, but unfortunately the girl wound the lashes on my other eye too tightly around the perm rod so the lashes on that eye ended up looking like some weird pubic hair...so my quest for the perfect heated eyelash curler continued.
But I finally found my holy grail, although I'm constantly shocked that I've never seen this product raved about in the American style/fashion magazines or available at any U.S. stores (alas, it's not even available at Sephora, which is absolutely shocking!!), because it is AMAZING!!!!
What am I talking about? The completely, utterly and totally amazing EYECURL heated eyelash curler. You want to know what makes this product unique? You use it AFTER you've applied your fave brand of mascara (or, in my case, Lamas Lash Masque). Seriously! And this serves to "lock" in the curl so that it lasts all day and all night. The curl doesn't come out until you actually remove your mascara at night. You've never seen anything like this before in your life and once you've tried it for yourself, you'll be disgusted with how much many you've wasted in the past on other eyelash curlers that didn't do squat!!
I love my EyeCurl so much that I purchased two more (one for my makeup bag, one for my makeup "bench" in the bathroom, and a spare -- "just in case"!!), and I have even bought them for my friends and female family members, who are all as enamoured with this little wonder as I am! Unfortunately, the only way that I know of to get it in the U.S. is to order it from the company in England by going online (visitwww.eyecurl.co.uk ) I can't remember how much it cost (those currency conversions always get to me!), but I think it was around $20USD -- definitely worth the price.
Of course, this is only my opinion based on my experiences...maybe some of the others have had better luck with the other brands of heated curlers. I know it might sound like I'm pimping for Eyecurl, but I swear I'm not affliated with them in any way!!! It's just an amazing product that I have complete faith in and I like to spread the word.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm completely happy with my Lamas Lash Masque, and my new super-long lashes courtesy of the daily applications of Talika Lipocils and Mavala Doublelash (yes, I used both at the same time -- I was greedy!!), but I just saw something on one of the Delphi forms (Mineral Makeup Mania, I believe it was) about BE "Brushless" mascara and I got curious. Has anyone used this? How does it work? Does it lengthen or thicken or what? If anyone can give me the low-down on this "brushless" wonder, I'd sure be appreciative!
thanks,

Well Carrie.... you've certainly pimped me...errr, sold me on the Eyecurl. I'll be checking out that website ASAP!
I have long, thick eyelashes, but since I'm now 60, they just don't show up as much as they used to without using CilsBooster, plus two coats of mascara, etc. So, I'm interested in at least trying the Eyecurl and the Lamas Lash Masque.
I'm just trying to picture you with permanent wave rods on your eyelashes! You wouldn't have a picture of that you'd like to share with us would you?
Oh, and SunHarvest is in Brodie Oaks. It's south, right where 360 and S. Lamar come together. The one with Toys-R-Us. I think it used to be Whole Foods and when they built at 6th and Lamar, they sold it to SunHarvest. It's got that old Austin Hippie flavor. You know, people with purple hair that don't shave their legs, etc.

Waaahhhhh.....
I'm supposed to be shut off for October. No more buying. I promised Mabsy, lol! But this eyelash curler sounds GREAT!!!!!
I was a victim of the drug store heated eyelash curler piece of crap. WASTE!!!!!! You had to hold the thingy to make it heat. It wouldn't even heat up on its own, - and did my eyelashes stay curled????? Nope.
So I'm feeling I may need to try this one that Carrie is speaking about. Carrie, I got hysterical with your perming incident. Can I share a story regarding my eyelashes too?
I had gone to a salon many moons ago to have my eyelashes dyed. I walked into the salon and the girl said "are you here to see Mary?" (or whatever her name was) and I said "yes." So then she says, okay, you can go to that room over there and just take your pants down. So I said, "okay." (duh) So I go in the room and I'm thinking "gee, I wonder why I have to take my pants down for dying my eyelashes, but thinking there must be a reason, what do I do? I take my pants down. Then a minute later Mary walks in and she stops and just kind of stares at me in horror. I told her the girl at the front desk told me to come in here and take my pants down -- so Mary goes out to her to try to figure out what happened. It turns out that the front desk girl thought I was having a bikini wax. Do you think I would have questioned the girl? No, not me. Idiot. I was so bloody embarrassed. My eyelashes came out pretty good tho! lol!!!!! Never did go back to that salon. I'm sure my experience there is legendary!!!

Maria!!!! You are way too trusting and submissive! I'm afraid I would have asked a few questions myself!
Would you believe when I was at the hairdressers today (at a Day Spa) that one of the girls was talking about getting her eyelashes permed! They actually do it there in my little bitty town! I still have this picture of someone with their lashes wrapped up in curling rods! I'm going to have to see how this is done!

I know Judy. I can't figure out how'd they'd perm the lashes either!!! Hopefully the smell wouldn't be as bad as a regular perm!!! Pee-U!!
Have they fixed that? It's been a long while since I got a perm. When I think back to the day when I used to perm and highlight, perm and highlight - my hair was fried!
You'll have to let me know how they perm the eyelashes!

Just thought I'd better make myself clear.... I'm NOT going to have mine permed. I'm just so curious, I'm going to find out how they actually do it.
For sure, when I find out, I'll let all of you know. I think someone said they had it done, maybe whoever it was will explain it to us. I think I asked if they'd send us a picture.

Persevere! Or at least wait until Novemeber I have to say that so far I am very proud of how I'm going this month. The only thing that I have purchased is a ltd ed Shrek 2 DVD, but even that is a pre-order so it will be charged to my cc in November
In terms of heated eyelash curlers I don't think I have come across one that has been absolutely spectacular (and I have tried the ones that people rave about in Australia). I think it's more of a personal preference. I do like the one I have but it will never give me the same curl as a normal eye curler does. It just lifts the eyelashes up to open up the eyes but does not actually CURL as such.
I love your eyelash tinting story!!! |

I have been using Lash Masque for close to three months now. I think I can give it a review:
Lash Masque works really well for me. Mascara whether waterproof or not always seemed to end up under my eyes to give me a tired look. Lash Masque darkens my lashes enough to enhance my eyes. It doesn't run at all and my lashes do seem healthier.
Love the Lash Masque for my brows! My brows look fuller and nicely groomed.
I seldom wear but a tad of makeup unless I am going somewhere I want to look extra good. Lash Masque is great if you don't wear a lot of eye makeup and does seem to make your lashes healthy (unless this is just from not putting drying mascara on them).
I will repurchase.

Winnie....
Good to hear your review. I wanted to ask... Did you see improvement right away or did it come gradually over the 3 months?
I ask because, as you know, I've just begun using it a little less than a month ago and so far, it doesn't give me quite as much color as I'd like to see, even for just around the house. My lashes are long and thick, but have greyed and I'm used to seeing what they used to be and have trouble accepting less).
I agree with you that the major benefit of this product MAY be to simply make your lashes healthier by keeping us from wearing mascara as often and letting our lashes breath. For that reason alone, I'm willing to give it at least two months to see what will happen and I very much want it to work!

The difference may be that I have dark hair. My lashes are baby fine as my hair is. I find that it does darken my lashes plenty. Could it be the difference in hair texture? I know baby fine hair grabs color easier then thicker textured hair.
This is why this forum is great. We all are somewhat different. Perhaps your thick, long lashes are not taking color as easy as mine would.
As far as my lash condition, I really am noticing the benefits of keeping regular mascara off them this month. It took me a few months to notice that improvement. |

Wish I could help you for sure Vegas, my lashes are dyed, but I've been using it for less than 3 weeks, so I really can't say absolutely for sure that it's darkening them permanently.
My lashes have just about lost all their color and have to be tinted. When I remove everything at night, they are still really light. But, again, I've only been using it for less than 3 weeks.
I use only the Lash Masque when I'm at home, but still find the need to apply mascara when I go out because I really like my lashes to look very thick and long, which they are, it's just that you can't tell because they are so light.
As I said in other reviews, I have two tubes and I'm perfectly willing to give it two tubes before I make a decision and I'm definitely hoping that it does work. I want to have my lashes darker and thicker naturally and stop having them tinted.
Oh, while I'm testing this, I have not been having them tinted, so that it's a good test.

Definitely, I would think that your hair being darker would help. However, rather than the texture of my lashes being the issue, I believe it is that they are grey. Grey hair just doesn't accept any type of color as well.
I can definitely see that it darkens my lashes when I put it on... not as dark as I prefer them, but a definite difference and I think enough that I can wear only the masque when I'm at home or dressed very casually. Hopefully, with time, my lashes may not be as grey. Perhaps the product will permanently darken my lashes. I hope so!

DollyPotter - I bought my Lash Masque off Ebay too - the seller was 'Munsybay' - really good service and new sealed products at a good price and quick to ship to the UK.
I also got the lip enhancer - loving both products. I have very fair lashes and after a few days use of the masque they are definitely a bit darker! The lip enhancer is great - not greasy and my lips feel moist and comfortable for hours - it doesn't seem to wear off as easily as most balms, the colour is subtle and it smells yummy too!
