Hi all~Merry Christmas
Well I'm 2 weeks in and am going true to the regimen. I use .05% RA.
My redness comes and goes and my face does have dandruff~yeah.
I am glad it is really cold so people think I have wind burn.
Does the cold weather have an effect on Redness?
I just got my Vit. C 15% serum and my skin feels better. I have noticed that my skin has become more oilier even tho I have combo skin. I like the glow.
I seemed to have misplaced/lost my sunfader so should I get another jug of that or should I get the healthy skin SPF, as I don't have freckles or much pigmentation?
All in all I am very happy with Obagi so far(talk to me in 6 weeks). I can handle face dandruff and the ruddy look.
Just a tad bit of Christmas cheer will get me/us thru this. Ya know~the Rudolph look!!!
So cheers to all you Obagi users for your help/support on ESD forums.
Also~cheers to EDS for making this product available...looking forward to Zo skin health!!!

I would get the healthy skin SPF especially if you don't have much in the way of pigmentation. There are a lot of people who have irritation, redness, and just general bad reactions from the sunfader. Keep us posted on how you get along, Kate! |

I am too sporting the "wind burn" look. I find that the sunfader stings after I put it on but I like to look at it as a good sting. lol!!
No seriously don't you love the dandruff look? |

I'm on week 6 of my Nu-Derm treatment, and still have "face dandruff". Actually, it's more like molting. But even though the molting is annoying, my hyper-pigmentation is dramatically reduced, so I'm sticking with it!
Stay strong and good luck!! |

I figure if I wear a green turtleneck - I can hide the fact that my face and neck are two totally different colors - and I'll be holiday appropriate.
Red face
Green turtleneck
& Lovely Face "Snow"!
Whoo hoo - all I need are jingle bell earrings and I'm set... |

I just finished week six and noticed today that I was flaking again!! I am definitely sticking with it however I sure do hate getting that red glow every day... I can't figure out is it the clear, tretinoin, or exfoderm forte that makes me so red!!! Anyway I have to do all of the above so I guess it doesn't matter. Does anyone have any experiences on weeks 8-10...when can you really tell if it is working? I can see changes with my skin but I think the redness makes it look worse, in my opinion. |

I think it's the Exfoderm Forte that's probably causing the most irritation - followed by the Clear. If you haven't used tretinoin before - it could also be a factor.
As for me, I'm starting on week 9 - so I'm starting to see some good results. (I got my first compliment today - at the hair salon - "Your skin is so smooth and glowy! What do you do?") I have to explain that it's a lot of makeup (to cover the redness) and a lot of exfoliation (to get rid of the peelies!)
Things will get better - you just have to tough it out, I'm afraid. But, I'm sure glad that it's wintertime - so I can wear turtlenecks and scarves. Sure helps disguise the fact that my neck is pale and my face is bright pink! |

I agree that it is probably all of the products producing the redness...I am using the decollete system with the tretinoin on my chest every few days so my neck sometimes looks as red as my face!! I do have a brown spot "age spot" I guess you would call it on the side of my face that I would love to get rid of. I am 39 years old, so I guess it is from years of sun damage but it is still not gone...any suggestions on how long these take to fade?? |
