Hi, I've recently decided to try out Jane Iredale base! I'm planning on ordering a few samples so I can get the perfect color. Can I apply these with any old foundation brush? And if I do take the plunge do you gals recommend that I buy a special brush? Thanks!!!

I apply JI powder and Bare Escentuals foundation with the Jane Iredale flocked sponge, no more messy brushes for me! I waste less and the coverage is really nice.

If you're going with the pressed base then you can't go past the Handi brush! I love mine and will never be without it!

Just want to mention I always use loose powder with the flocked sponge. Smile I don't know if it will work as well with the pressed base. I did use my BE foundation brush with the JI loose powder and it worked just fine. Not sure about other powder brushes not designed to apply the powder foundations though. Good luck finding a tool that works well! Smile

Oh no, another decision. What would you recommend for moderate coverage -- the pressed or the loose base? What are the pros and cons of each?

Thanks!!

the pressed is more matte finish! Loose is more glowey, but not as much as the BE...

I've used the flocked sponge with the pressed and gotten decent coverage...a bit cakey if I wasn't careful.

Right now I have a sample of the loose and I'm liking it with my MAC brush...

If I decide to go with the powders instead of the minerals I'll get the handi brush cuz it gets SO many raves!

I find the pressed more matt than the loose too. I get light coverage with a sponge and loose powder, another coat would give moderate coverage. Applying with the brush gives the same coverage.

I ordered samples fromwww.skin-etc.com to find out which form and shade I needed.

Lolli, tomorrow I'm going to try the loose with the sponge...see how it turns out =)

I still can't decide whether to stick with my liquid minerals or switch to the loose...they both give such nice results!

That's what I did Chimera. Smile You won't know until you try them out.

How did the loose work with the sponge today? I like the natural look and any extra hiding I need, I use JI Disappear. Smile I LOVE it and will review it when I get a few minutes free here. Smile
