Can anyone recommend a mask for shiny hair? I have had several different treatments at the hairdressers but to no avail. I have also tried a few different brands of serums for shine, but they just make my hair oily (I don't use too much) and I have to wash it all out at night.
There's a new(?) mask out by L'Occitane called Repairing Mask which is supposed to make your hair shiny. Has anyone tried that?
Also I've heard that clear henna is good. Anyone tried that?
Any other suggestions would be welcome. TIA. |

Not a mask but I recently started using Garden of Wisdom healthy hair serum along with 2 drops of meadowsweet oil and my hair has amazing shine. I've used the serum with out the oil and its not the same. Just 2 drop of oil really makes a big difference. |

It doesn't make your hair too oily?? |

Do you have Neutrogena Triple Moisture products in Australia? If so, their shine serum has meadowfoam seed, olive oil, and Sweet Almond oil in it:

Neutrogena Triple Moisture® provides specialized care for extra dry hair
Contains UV filters
Salon approved
Non-greasy
Alcohol free
1.8 fl. oz. bottle

Neutrogena Triple Moisture® Healing Shine Serum
remedies dryness and damage all the way down to the tips.
Go beyond surface shine with this extraordinary daily leave-in treatment that actually helps repair damage. Treat frazzled and split ends, restoring strength and moisture to weak, dehydrated hair with three naturally derived extracts. Olive penetrates to the center of the hair strand, Meadowfoam Seed helps moisturize the middle and Sweet Almond wraps the surface. A single use will leave your hair brilliantly shiny and healthy looking from root to tip. |
It's my fav shine serum (I have dry hair). I haven't tried the Frederic Fekai gloss - that has good feedback too but costs a lot more money. |

Thanks lunarmm. We have Neutrogena but I'm not sure about the Triple Moisture products. I know we don't have (or I haven't found) some of the products that I've seen in the US. I'll check it out. |

Try looking for stuff with sunflower seed oil and hydrolyzed silk. The Neutrogena products mentioned are good too. DHC (dhccare.com) has a couple leave in products that are good-- I've only sampled the emulsion type one.
You might also want to try anti-residue products. Neutrogena makes a good, but gentle anti-residue shampoo, or just plain old apple cider vinegar. My hair's always shiner after I use either one. |

I have thin hair that gets oily really easily so its not easy to find a good hair mask.
I really love The Body Shop poppy seed mask. Its creamy and it smell divine.
The price is good too and you can find it everywhere...hope it helps. |

I think one of the best hair masks for shiny hair is ITS A 10 MIRACLE MASK. It does everything that it says it does.
Detangles
Restores moisture balance
Instantly restores elasticity
Softens
Smoothes
Imparts luminous shine
Enhances natural body
Nourishes
De frizzes
Improves color vibrancy

I have used the hair line of L'Occitane ,including what you involved.
I don't think it is a good product for me.
You'd better try another brands of serums for shine. |

I know this is not an answer that involves using a "product" per say... but it is really getting shiny hair from the inside out. I totally revamped my diet last year late September early November and within that short time frame have now got amazingly shiny hair and as an added bonus, extremely healthy hair to boot! I did a google search on "super foods" for hair and skin and came up with many foods that are great for both...
The things in my diet I eat on a regular, usually daily basis are: almonds, avocado, organic grain cereals that contain high amounts of Omega's, flax seed, fresh raw spinach, blueberries, 100% Acai juice 2x daily, soy milk, tofu (I don't eat a lot of meat so protein I get from the soy products), green & colored peppers, other berries such as raspberries and strawberries...among many other things.....
It's a round-a-bout way to get shiny hair but my diet change has seriously done wonders for my hair and my skin and I have no need at all for products that make my hair shiny because it is shiny 24/7! |

Lunaarmm, I tried Frederick Fekkai glossing serum/spray. It left my hair so oily I had to jump back in the shower to wash it off. I have healthy, but thin hair. |
