I am still looking for theeee perfect lipstick! I do like a matte one, since it seems to wear longer on me, and I do not have a lot of time during the day to reapply. I would love to find a pinkish brown. Anyone here have any suggestions?

THANKS!

My new favourite is satin rather than matte, but not shimmery, has great moisturisation properties and lasts well. It's Spirit from MAC's Satin lipstick line.

My lips are a little bit darker than normal and it works well as a fairly neutral, very pretty lipstick on me. I have fair skin. The colour is a browny, pinky nude.

I can't specify a colour, but Max Factor's lipfinity lipsticks are super-matt if you wear the colour without adding the glosser

Lipstick Queen's Sinner line of lipsticks are matte and extremely pigmented, if you like staying power in a high quality lipstick. Sinner Natural is in the brown-pink family, as I recall. (I can't wear them myself because I only wear sheers. But I got a couple of the Sinners for my daughter, who adores them.)

How a lippie looks on you will depend on your skin color, natural lip color, and chemistry (e.g. some people turn lipstick orangey). I think Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier make really good brown-based neutrals that are pretty and low-key. MAC is always an option since they have so many colors. Really, the best say to figure this out is to go to a counter and start trying stuff on!
