Hi,

Looking for advice again Very Happy

I am trying to find a Tinted Moisturizer that is good for very fair skin. I was looking at the Dermalogica but it only comes in Light which will probably end up being to dark for me.

I was also looking at the Becca one?? The rep at Becca says that the Porcelain is the lightest shade..

I would even take a foundation recommendation if someone knows of one that is good for fine lines and larger pores??? I did try the Joey Pore Foundation but it highlighted the lines around my eyes and didn't seem to help the look of pores at all????

TIA

I was looking at Neutrogena's Sheer tinted moisturizer today and the palest shade looks good. That TM is so sheer that the color hardly shows up anyway, but it does a good job of moisturizing and has a chemical SPF.

If you're really pale, the Laura Mercier probably won't work for you. Their lightest shade is a wee bit dark on me, and while I am pale, I don't have the china doll white complexion of some.

I use Clinique's City Block as a tinted moisturiser, either the 15SPF or 25SPF. They are both slightly tinted, and if you are very very pale, they might work!

Have you ever tried Prescriptives Foundations? They have a million different shades and formulas. They also make custom-mixed foundation so you can match your exact skin color.

If you can find a store that carries it, go there and get "color printed." Basically, they test your skin with different foundations from four different color families: red/orange, yellow/orange, blue/red... (I forget the 4th one, but if you've got a lot of yellow in your skin you'd be 'yellow orange, or if you have more pink in your skin you might be blue/red)

They make a tinted moisturizer called Traceless. They have
4 levels instead of naming them by color family. You'd probably be level 1, which is quite light. If that's too dark, they'll custom blend one for you in that formula.

I hate the feeling of foundation on my skin but I love this stuff. Has good staying power, too. I never retouch it during the day.

Hope that helps you.

I like the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturisers. They have 8 shades. The SPF25 moisturising balm is for dryer skin and the SPF15 in the tube is for normal to dry skins. I also like Armani Face Fabric. Someone on the forums suggested that shade 8 (which is white and a corrector) is actually good for very pale skin.

La roche posay has a very good tinted foundation with SPF in it. My skin is pretty sensitive and I find that this one covers well plus it has an added bonus which is the spf combined into it.

Thanks for the feedback on the LM brand. I am very pale but definitely no china doll either!! Store brands are all typically too dark though... (lightest Lancome and Elizabeth Arden doesn't work either).

I'd forgotten about Prescriptives! DUH... I did use their foundation about...11 years ago Shock Unfortunately, the closest place for me to get it is about 1 1/2 hours away. Might have to make a big shopping trip soon Wink

I'm about an NW15/20 - and most TMs I find turn orange on me. So far the only TM I found that matches is Dior Hydraction SPF 20 in 1. I've tried Laura Mercier, Revlon and none of them have worked as wel in colour matching. I'm not going to go as far as to say its my HG - but if you can, get a sample and it might work well for you.

MAC has a lot of colors for you to choose. But i'm still not sure which kind of product you really need.

Why don't you just mix some foundation with your regular moisturizer? IME tinted moisturizers don't come in a very wide selection of colors, and even when you do find the right shade you'll most likely find something you don't like about the texture, absorbancy, etc..

That is a good idea and I have tried it. I find it a real hassle trying to mix the correct amount and trying to get the right kind of coverage. I would prefer something that comes straight out of the package because I never seem to end up with a result I like when I mixed. Plus I haven't really found my HG moisturizer either Sad That is something I am still searching for as well.

I did try a sample of Dermalogica in Light but it was a teeny bit on the dark side. Other than that, I loved everything about it...the coverage, texture....

I've always preferred a tinted moisturizer over heavy foundation but it is hard to find. Lancome used to make one I used for years, but I got away from that. I just bought Olay's Definity Color Recapture. I bought the medium, I know there is a light in the line. I loved mine, it did the job nicely and I loved the fact I could reapply to get more coverage without looking heavy.

Hmmm...MAC doesn't make a tinted moisturizer that is light enough for very fair complexions. Does Paula's Choice have a paler one?

I wanna know if the clinique is popular in the United States or Canada.
It's very expensive in China .
But I love the City Block both SPF 25 and SPF 40

Yes Flit. Paula's lightest shade is Sheer Fair. There are drugstore versions as well such as Almay, Covergirl, Revlon.

Kohl's Good Skin All Calm Gentle Sunscreen SPF 25 has very light tint, lighter than Clinique's City Block. Kohl's house brands are all made by the Estee Lauder Co. The Good Skin line is supposedly comparable to Clinique.

I would try Bobbi Brown. The EXTRA tinted balm is extremely moisturizing and was my favorite before I gave up parabens. She has some that would be terrific for pale skin.
