I was on the Julie Hewett website (since the 25% off ends on October 1st) and noticed a new holiday limited edition eyepalate--containing a pale shimmery base, a rosy-plum shade, a shimmery gold shade to wear on its own or over another shade, and a "navy-deep sea blue" liner. Not my colors, but for those who like cool tones, run don't walk--especially at 25% off! |

I'll have to look for this - I am considering the palette with the blushes. This one sounds nice - although I'm not big on shimmer. |

Obviously I haven't seen the palette in person, but I would guess that the shimmer is fairly subtle. The shimmies are very shimmery--too much for me, but the other shimmer eyeshadows that I've tried are lovely and subtle, such sas the shimmery taupe powder in the Soiree palette and the shimmery taupe cream shadow in the Ombre palette. Also, the Bette shimmery cram blush is not over the top, either.
Let us know if you take the plunge...
Oh, and that Cheekie palette is a great deal if you get it by today--you get four of the most flattering Cheekies plus that little brush. I love that little guy! Not only is it grat for the blush, but I like to use it to buff makeup around my nose to hid pores instead of a makeup sponge, and it's also perfect to brush on a bit of Albatross across the upper cheekbones and over the browbone. I'm thinking about picking up an extra one... |

I have this "boheme" palette, and so does my friend, and we both use it EVERYDAY!
Seriously, I love it.
This palette can be used for daytime--just a hint of the gold shimmer and the navy liner right at the lash line, or it can be gorgeous for nighttime--a smokey navy eye with rose accents.
the neutral sand color is perfect just with mascara, too.
I have olive toned skin and can use these colors, and my friend is peachy and she can use them, too.
It's our favortie new addition to our arsenal!

I wondered whether you'd tried it, avalange. As I recall, you were looking for a good navy eyeliner some time back.
The description of the blue liner is strange though--is it really navy? Deep sea blue? The color on my computer monitor looks more like a slightly dusty royal blue. And the name, I think, is azure. So, what's it really like? And can it be sheered to do a smoky deep blue? (That wouldn't work for me, but I bet my daughter would love it.) |

hi flitcraft!
in fact, it is exactly a dusty royal blue. a little brighter, not as earthy as a navy.
i never found my navy--closest i got was nars' thunderball, which is too dark and muddy.
but against the lash line, this blue in the palette is just gorgeous--certainly not oo bright.
For what you are looking for, it seems as if the huepot in newsprint bleu would be perfect, no? this is my solution to the absolute smokey eye.

Thanks for reminding me about the newsprint bleu pot. I got the rue burgundy pot as a sample a few weeks ago, and to my surprise it's very wearable and versatile. I think I'll hit "send" on an order including the newsprint bleu today. |

If you're still teetering on the brink on a last minute order, check out the new eyeshadows that can be individually ordered and added to a free 4 pan palette. I just ordered four shadows and the palette for 30 dollars, including free shipping. I got the vermeil and the muse from the boheme palette (also the newsprint bleu hue pot...). Will report once it arrives. (I actually ordered three times during the 25% off sale. Stop me before I order again!) |
