The wind here in Vancouver has been drying out combo-oily skin these past weeks and I fear it's just going to get worse! As I said, I'm combo-oily, and I'm also extremely acne-prone. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Also, everyone, please share your favourite winter moisturizer .

I have combination/oily skin and I like the Osea Advanced Protection Cream because it doesn't leave my skin looking as greasy after application as other creams I've tried. If my skin is feeling dry then I layer a little of the Osea hydrating oil underneath or Weleda Rose Oil Capsules that Avalange recommended a while back. |

My skin type is oily and sensitive. My favourite moisturize that I always use in winter, it’s Cetaphil. It’s very cheap, simply, not clog pore. |

I'm pretty much combo/oily/sensitive, and my tried and true winter moisture is Zenbiotic's Moisture Enrich:
http://www.zenbiotic.com/HYDRATION%20&%20DRYNESS.htm
I love Moisture Enrich because it makes my skin soft and dewy, but it has NEVER clogged my pores or broken me out, which is more than I can say for a lot of the more "hardcore" moisturizers I tried.
If the weather is particularly cold and brutal, I will also carry around a bottle of the Zenbiotic Phyto Moisture spray with me---- misting it on gives my skin an instant moisture boost without disturbing my makeup. |

I have combination skin that can get oily depending on the weather, but it also gets very, very dry and flaky in the winter if I don't moisturize properly. It's also sensitive/reactive, meaning I can get breakouts and clogged pores, sometimes even allergic reactions, easily.
I've had the best luck with the simplest moisturizers. I like jojoba oil and/or argan oil applied sparingly to damp skin. I got mine from Garden of Wisdom for very reasonable prices.
I also like Desert Essence's Daily Essential Moisturizer, which has a very short ingredients list, no fragrance, and is extremely inexpensive.
If I get really dry, I use a hyaluronic acid serum mixed with my moisturizer, or layered beneath. My favorite was MyChelle's Ultra Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum, but they've changed the ingredients around so that glycerin is #2 on the list. Can't tolerate glycerin at all so I'm looking for another serum.
Another thing to do is look at your diet. My skin gets drier if I skip water and don't get enough EFAs. To remedy the latter, I take fish oil pills or ground flaxseed in my oatmeal.

Call me crazy, but I have been using Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel year round and couldn't be happier with it. Only on the really harsh, cold weeks do I use something else and then it's just anything else I can find on my shelf that would fit into the basic cream moisturizer.
I am 47 yrs and have combo/normal skin with oiliness and blackhead prone areas in on my nose and inner cheek area. I rarely ever have a full blown zit. |

I live above the Arctic Circle, but in a humid coastal climate. But I spend quite much time outdoors, and heating also dries my skin out, and my skin is also dry and sensitive to start. I've found that for me, the best winter combination is to first use Decleor's Aromessence Neroli, and then apply one of the Nutri-délice range of moisturizers on top of that. |

I have the same question and am interested in Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream - anyone tried this before? Is it good for winter? ![Embarassed](images/smiles/redface.gif) |

The rose cream just made my skin drier, because it contains oils, but no real moisturizing ingredients. For my skin, which is both dehydrated and dry, it simply wasn't enough. If your skin is dehydrated, stay away. |

I have acne prone skin with combination skin. I live in Toronto and I've been using Cellcosmet Ultra Vital for the past three or four years. I've also been using a gentle cleanser from Cetaphil and Cellcosmet cream cleanser in the winter. To take off my make-up at night, I would use Cetaphil cleanser made for oily skin. Make sure you use a gentle facial scrub, like Cellcosmet or Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel (that sits on your face, burns a bit, but it exfoliates gently) |

Try a little bit of emu oil under your moisturizer. I use Philosophy's When Hope is Not Enough, but I'm not sure how the combination would work for acne prone skin. I do know that little bit of emu under my moisturizer works great for me during the winter months when air is very dry indoors. |

I have used Juvena all my life and have never had any need to try anything else. I was using Juvena's Biological Age Control and now that I'm needing more moisture I'm using Juvena's Deliner. I use it as a day and night moisturiser and even around the eye area. |

I always use sunblock, even in winter... La Roche Posay Anthelios do a fluide extreme was recommended by Mag, the sun guru from the YTF board. It'll make a massive difference to how your skin looks in 10 years time, and it'll moisturise if you need it! |

I really like the rose smell of Rose Cream. Also, people who don't have dry skin should not buy this!! I don't understand why anyone with oily skin would put this on their face!! |

I've combination/dry skin mostly.
La Mer manages to keep my skin moisturised - it's not a miracle worker - but it works very well a a moisturiser that doesn't break me out. Breaks the bank tho!
Also, Decleor's Neroli oil topped with their Hydra Floral Cream also moisturizes beautifully and doesn't break me out.
I do break out badly with Dr. H even tho I wanted so badly to like that line!
Hope you find something that works for you! |

I like Shu Uemura's B-G Reinforcing Gel-Cream for the day and their B-G Recharging Night Cream at night... I am currently using BP to fight my acne and my skin is turned super dry from Vancouver weather as well, and since I been using the Shu Uemura stuff my skin has gotten better. |

Like most of us, I wear sunscreen every day, even if I'm not outside, to protect against radiation from the computer screen. Devita Body Block SPF30 is nice and moisturizing for me, but sometimes I wear CosMedix Rescue Balm under it. It's a thick balm that quickly softens between my fingers. It smells like cherries. I pat it all over and let it absorb before applying SS and makeup. It gives a nice glow and prevents moisture loss from dry air. Available at Dermstore.com, where ingredients can be found as well. Kinda spendy, but only a little bit is needed. Can be used as a mask at night too.
My skin is normal with some large pores on my nose, and can form cystic acne with the wrong products. These products have not caused me any problems. |

throughout the winter i have just stuck to using Photomer Instant moisture cream which i used in summer as well. While it gave me the moisture during the winter months at times i did feel my skin being on the dry side in winter so perhaps this moisturizer wasnt the right thing to use during winter. However in the Photomer range in their hydracontinue line there is another moisturizer a lil more heavier then the one i mentioned above so perhaps that one would be a better choice for winter? I havent tried it though |

I have combination skin and don't stick to one brand. In winter, I use moisturizers that contain some moisturizing ingredients such as HA, NMF, ceramide, squalane, VB etc |
