Dermarolling in a clinic

Hi ladies

Hope Ive posted this in the correct place.....apologies if not.
Ive been reading up on the dermaroller and it looks like it has amazing results. Having not seen how it is done id be quite wary of doing it on myself so Ive looked around and found a clinic not too far from me (UK) and discovered it costs £300 a session!!! Wow that seems a huge amount of money.

Has anyone on here been to a clinic and paid for someone to do this? and if so is that a reasonable amount of money to spend?

Ive been considering pro fractional for a while but its expensive but the dermaroller doesnt appear to be much cheaper. Id would like it to target fine lines which I have at the tender age of 35! Sad

You can always buy your own roller, though it is not exactly pleasant!

BTW, a medical grade roll here in the US was about $2500 the last time I looked.

Thats a huge amount of money! And Im guessing one medical roll is not enough? Im going to phone the clinic and get some more details on needle length etc.

misspointy...I agree with Beth. Just buy a roller and some numbing agent, and do it yourself. Although I've been rolling for about a year now, I wanted to get one good professional roll by a Doc, until I realized how much it would cost, plus the travel time and expense to go get it....so now I am rolling once every 2 months, good and hard with a 2.0 roller and saving thousands of (US) dollars.

I was curious, are you happy w/ your rolling results - what kind have you seen? How fast. Do you prefer the 2.0 over the 1.5 - have you seen different results?

mountaingirl, did you roll with any specific objective in mind (more collagen, reduction of scars,etc.)?

I honestly do not think I have had any dramatic improvement since I first started rolling, but I actually believe it may be my own fault for rolling too frequently and not allowing the healing to take place, before I retraumatized my skin by rolling again. ((I was rolling every two weeks...just too much IMHO!)) I waited 2 months to do the last one, and got more blood spots than ever. I always rolled with the 1.5mm but now I am hitting my problem area's (upper lips, crows feet) with the 2mm. My goal is for reduction in wrinkles and tightening of the skin. I really believe in this procedure. It makes sooooo much sense and seems like one of the safest of regenerating the skin. We are just forcing the natural process.
