All right, I think I'm ready to make the DIY plunge you amazing EDS recipe ladies (I lurk in this part of EDS!) So I really like Suki's Balancing Toner (formerly White Willow), and while it's "only" $30 for 4 oz., I just can't justify that kind of expenditure on liquid right now... But it was the first toner I've tried that I actually felt like was doing something.
So I was hoping to get some advice on making my own version of the toner. Didn't know if anyone's tried using white willow before? It's the original source for aspirin according to this website: https://anitagrant.com/ under herbs for hair and skin.
I'm listing the ingredients below from now and before they renamed it a little bit ago (the older version sounds less "fancy"). And if this doesn't look viable, other DIY toners you might recommend instead? TIA for any help you can provide!!
Ingredients from Suki's website:
organic roses (rosa centifolia) infused in purified, filtered water (agua), organic concentrated aloe vera (aloe barbadensis), organic rose (rosa canina), lavender (lavandula angustifolia), calendula (calendula officinalis) & chamomile (anthemis nobilis) extracts, natural vitamin liposome c, standardized white willow bark extract (salix alba), organic seaweed extract (algae), honeysuckle flower extract (lonicera caprifolium), aroma (pure premium steam distilled essential oil)
Old version:
organic rose petal, chamomile, calendula & tea tree infusion, standardized white willow & chamomile extracts, extracts of white willow, comfrey & rose, witch hazel, organic food grade aloe vera, natural vitamin c & retinol liposomes, seaweed extracts & pure, premium, steam distilled essential oils. |

KB,
this is a difficult one to diy (imo) because of the herbal infusins...if they are water based..rather than oil based infusions (which they probably are because it is a toner) i don't know of any place that sells them..you'd have to infuse them yourself
i can give you some sites to buy the herbal (non alcohol) extracts at another time...(too busy right now!).. |

Thanks jasminerosey. I've taken a look at the DIY ingredients thread, so I could probably find the extracts, but knowing the difficulty level is really useful -- and worth considering whether it's worth it. Thanks! |
