Hi I bought a ton of this stuff from my last trip to the States. I wonder if there's any reason I can't use it on my face as a regular BHA? It's just salicylic acid, right? Thansk! |

Hi fat_swan! Yes, you're right, it *is* basically just salicylic acid, but if I remember correctly it's in a base of pure rubbing alcohol. If you try to use it on your face like a toner or whatnot with any regularity you're just going to tear the heck out of your skin. (Believe me, I tried, lol!) If you have a stubborn blemish or a stubborn patch of breakouts you might try dabbing just a little tendskin on that area, but I would strongly advise against using it all over your face.
On a semi-related note, if you're looking for a good BHA to use on your face, I've recently been using Dermadoctor's Ain't Misbehaving Acne serum and I really love it--- it's a BHA serum that also has azelaic acid, green tea, tea tree oil, etc. HTH! |

It is in a alcohol base. I would not use this as a toner.
I'll also give you a BHA rec, Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid. |

Oh ok I see.. But would diluting the Tend Skin with water lessen the effects of alchohol on the skin? I just have so much of the stuff, don't want them to go to waste! Thank you! |

I don't think you would get any benefits from it if you diluted with water. Acetylsalicylic Acid is a derivative of salicylic acid so its not as effective as using a SA product. |

How about if used as a toner? Would that minimize the time the product has to react on my face? Thanks |
