From my point of view, medicine bands(like lots of American medicine brands) contain professional, effective, and high-tech ingredients for skincare, especially in anti-aging fields. Those products sold in drugstores (like vichy)can not be counted as medicine brands. They are just sold in drugstores.

I find a lot of American skincare is focused on 'cosmeceutical' science, ie, acids, vitamins, antioxidants backed by research... And European skin care take a more natural approach with spring waters and plants and essential oils...

You just have to experiment with what works best for you. HTH!

I echo that - european and australian companies - well have to correct that to say that natural companies, tend to go more into essential oils, natural approach and natural ingredients. So this is more into science of what nature has to offer.

You have companies like Kosmea (Australian), Miessense (not offered here, also Australian) -certified organic which focus their products on natural, non-invasive good for you ingredients.

American and not only American, non-organic, non-natural focus on solutions toward specific issues as they say, full of chemicals, like Lancome, that really haven't been researched enough to a)show they don't have long term damaging effects, and b)that they actually deliver.

Agree, someone could turn back and say the same thing back at natural things. But here is my view on this - naturals have been around for centuries if not thousands of years, and our ancestors and grandmoms used them, and heck manmade cannot be "smarter" than what nature's already given us.

If you have Lavender, why go around and create a synthetic Lavender smell? I tell you why: cause it's cheaper!!! cause they can manufactur gallons of it for pennies and sell it off in dollars making over 100% profit.

The north American Medicine skincare always contain more effect ingredients, so before you decide which one to use, you'd better check out if these ingredients are suitable and safe for you.
Therefore, the north American Medicine skincare seems more like a medecion, while the french medicine skincare are more like normal skincare. Got it?

I totally agree with the lavender example, but I will personally go on record and say that I hope to never look like my grandmother, though she looked better when she died at 94 than my mother does now Shock (sun exposure was the key there). If it takes something synthetic to keep aging at bay, SIGN ME UP! Very Happy

Or if you can use something that occurs in nature for a different purpose (like Botulinum Toxin - Botox), SIGN ME UP for that too! Very Happy

I totally agree. I do think that natural cosmetic lines are great for people with young and healthy skin, but when it comes to anti-aging, unfortunately natural ingredients are not going to help you. So yes, sign me up for synthetic anti-aging stuff!
