I had a sample of this and I really liked it,it left my skin feeling really smooth. I'm not sure it's worth the £60 it would cost me here in the UK to purchase this though. However I was reading reviews on Makeup Alley and some people mentioned that Serious Skin Care make an almost identical product called C-Extreme Results Resurfacer. I managed to purchase this from the US ebay and it cost me £14 including delivery to the UK, the results this gives are almost as good as the Philosophy version so for less than a quarter of the price it's definitely worth a try. |

Hi Queenbluebee,
I, too, was trying to find a good 'deep' resurfacer. I had tried Philosophy and very much liked it and was about to purchase it, but on this forum, many were reviewing Epiderm cream. Its a microdermabrasion treatment. You can find all the reviews further into this forum.
And I don't know, the excitement of everyone's RAV reviews, and the price of $45 for BOTH the cream with a finishing oil, Silkia (Camellia oil=vitamins, plus), well, I ordered it.
WOW. Its FANTASTIC. It feels... 'deeper cleaning' than the Philosophy's. Don't want to be gross, but when you use Epiderm, it first feels like a regular fine scrub, but as you massage, 'balls' of dead skin starts to ball up and fall off. I've used it twice so far...wonderful. I had my girlfriend try it, and she went NUTS over it saying she pays $65 for each microdermabrasion at her salon, and this was the first product that matched those results!
I know its hard to buy products without trying, but I'm very glad I did. Hope this helps you...
By the way, isn't the Philosophy's about $75? Epiderm is a much better deal and I truly feel a better product.
OH, I have read reviews of Serious Skin Care, too, and its well liked. Just haven't tried it.
Keep reading deep into this website to find more reviews about these products. Vanessa |

Talking of resurfacers, Dermalogica have newly (well not so newly now) released their resurfacer called "Daily Resurfacer". It comes in mini-doses with sponges on the end. I think 30 or so comes in the metal tin.
I managed to get my hand on a single sample - apparently theyre sold out in every salon in the UK except the one in Leicester. Not sure if I believe that but thats what the therapist told me! I thought it was really, really good. It made my skin so smooth and lightened my acne scar - and that was just with one dose.
Its around £37 here in the UK and as I have officially decided not to buy anything after going on my La Prairie spree (excluding the Decleor Sensitive shaving foam, deoderant and after-shave gel - all essentials order that I placed y/day) im not going to go for it just yet.

It may have some ingredients in it that work immediately to smooth your skin out - but it isn't the C in it. C is a long-term use product so a one-time "peel" won't give you the benefits that daily use would provide. That's not to say that the other ingredients in this don't exfoliate your skin right away. Do you have the ingredient list? |

sure -
citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) flower extract, PPG-2 isoceteth-20 acetate, ethoxydiglycol, butylene glycol, salicylic acid, extracts of aspalathus linearis (rooibos) leaf, camellia oleifera (green tea) leaf, pyrus malus (apple) fruit, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) fruit, saccharum officinarum (sugar canae), oryza sativa (rice), citrus unshui peel, zostera marina, hibiscus esculentus fruit, sodium hyaluronate, bacillus ferment, hydrolized glycosaminoglycans, citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil, perfluorononylethyl carboxydecyl PEG-10 dimethicone, propylene glycol, glycerin, PEG-90M, aminomethyl propanol, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, limonene
it does look quite impressive but I dont think it has the C in it. |

I had quite the opposite reaction to Dermalogica's Daily Resurfacer. I was very excited when I got my hands on 3 samples. So I used it 3 nights in a row. I didn't notice a darn thing. If anything my skin felt slightly drier than normal. I'll stick with the Microfoliant and my C-serum.

It looks like the Salicylic acid being so high up on the ingredient list; it is probably the "instant" skin smoother in the list. I also see a few other ingredients that are supposed to help smooth out wrinkles (hibiscus esculentus) but so far down the list, who knows if they have any effect. The sugar cane could be glycolic acid, too.
A nice list to be sure. |

I loved the Philosophy Peel. It made my skin really clear and smooth, but I'm planning on trying the Epidermx and Camelia Oil combo soon. Everyone seems to have had such great results with it.
If you do want to buy more of the Philosophy, try US sellers on eBay. That's how I got mine and it's so much cheaper over there, even given the cost of shipping. |

When I sold all the Philopsphy on Ebay a few weeks ago I was surprised at how little it goes for in the UK...
The Tpoical Vit C powder went for £9, the Vit C serum fo £10, the Micro Peel for £9! |

LOL! How evil you are! I can just imagine you, sitting in a big chair, stroking one of your cats, intent on world domination or something in a James Bond's Blofeld kind of way, cackling with laughter.
BTW Love your two gorgeous pusscats. I'm also a fellow feline fanatic. Got a 17 year old brindle tortie BSH-cross moggy, myself. Love her to bits. |

I LOVE this peel and will never be without it. It makes your face glow and lightens any hyperpigmentation you may have. I always use this before I have to go out for special events. |

I use this and really like it. I feel it's doing a great job of exfoliating. The easiest way for me is to do it right before showering, easier to rinse off. I also use it on my hands but only if I want to re-do my polish because this product leaves a film and kinda eats up the finish a bit. |

Here is Philosophy's site. Scroll down and it gives you the directions and the ingredients. I wouldn't know tho if they are giving all ingredients.
http://www.philosophy.com/web/store/prod_microdelivery-peel____24005_23503_28300
The step one product, vitamin c/peptide resurfacing crystals, is kinda/sorta like a paste with grit it in. The second product, lactic/salicylic acid activating gel, is a gel and when applied to the crystals that you massaged on your face, foams up and gets a bit warm and actually feels quite nice.

please excuse my spelling |

Yes, all future deliveries should ship for free. I agree, it would be great to come up with a similar recipe. I know skinactives.com is pretty good and I'm sure if you asked them what you need to make this they would tell you. |
