Hi I am new here, I thank everyone for reviews, love to not waste $ if I dont have to - must share this- Last week, found the Oil of Olay Microderm and Peel (in the Regenerist line) for $28 at Walgreens, after hearing great reviews on it by friends. I have tried all- and THIS is a HG product for me if there ever was one!! Results are fantastic, I left the serum on top for about 10 minutes before taking off with washcloth- pleasant smelling, not abrasive- and my skin has been glowing since I used 3 days ago, and my face is insanely smooth! Had been using Dr. Brandt's Microdermabrasion in a Jar, an ok product (a little abrasive and $75!) Pretty good results at Dr. office ($90 a pop every 7 weeks with Diamondtome). Fingers crossed for continuing fantastic results! New O of O fan, may check out whole regenerist line next!

Welcome Vanity1! I have been using this for the last week myself. After the first time I noticed my fine lines were less visible and I could hardly wait to use it again. I used it for the second time last night and my skin looks much smoother today as well. I think I'm going to try to leave the peel step on a little longer next time. I don't seem to get as much "glow" as what everyone else seems to on MUA. It's definitely a great product and I look forward to seeing more and more results with twice weekly use! |

Maybe leaving the serum on longer is the ticket for getting the "glow" - it didnt feel like it was irritating my skin so I just went with it! I am on a mission to find lower-price alternatives to all the high-priced, half-filled, disappointed-with-results jars and make up tubes in my cabinet, off to a great start ! Am finding some drug store brands (that I would have dismissed previously)have really made an effort in the past few years to step it up! thanks for reply!

I'm on that same mission! What have you found so far? I'm loving the OCM using just EVOO and castor oil. That's a VERY cheap and effective cleansing solution! I also like the Cetaphil cleanser as well. I also make my own ACV toner which is also great and I occasionaly make a few homemade masks as well. I'm still on the hunt for a cheap but effective wrinkle remover. ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

Sorry - I am new what is OCM and EVOO? I was just happy to finally decipher what the "HG" was in reviews! I had been using Kinerase forever with Retin A (0.1%), nothing works like Retin A for fine lines. But pitched Kinerase when prices suddenly surged and tubes got smaller. Tried NuGlow line, so far love it. (Copper peptides) My husband has been using it, and I can really tell a difference in his skin, much clearer looking. Its not that expensive, I get off QVC to avoid the auto-ship deal and high shipping charges, its $79 for whole line and lasts 2-3 months. Its got serum, night and day cream, eye gel and cleanser. Havent read much rave reviews on it, but its working for me for the last 4 months. Still use small amount of Retin A on top. |

OCM is the oil cleansing method and EVOO is extra virgin olive oil. Use the search button in the upper right and you can find many threads on OCM. I've just started it a few weeks ago and it's great!
I tried Retin-A micro for 8 weeks and my skin never stopped peeling horribly so I gave up. I'm now using the Kinerase and am liking it so far, but it's only been 2 weeks now so I'm giving it til at least week 12 to decide if it's a keeper for me or not. How did you use the retin-A to get rid of your lines? Maybe if I used it off and on I would tolerate it better.
I'll have to check out the NuGlow line. What benefits have you gotten from it so far? Sounds interesting and what a great price!!! |

Are you using the whole Kinerase line? I used the cream faithfully for years until they went bananas with the price! The Nuglow night creme I think moisturizes just as well. Whatever copper peptides do, they leave your skin really clear. My facialist said that my pores were totally unclogged just a week after I started using it, so I stopped getting facials. I really notice the difference on my husband's skin, just really clean looking. Retin A follows the premise that there can be "too much" of a good thing. I just dab the smallest amount possible on crows feet and only at night. Totally works. And botox helps of course. What do you do with EVOO? |

No, I'm just trying the Kinerase lotion. I tried copper peptides in another product and I got a ton of milia around my eyes from it so I stopped and haven't tried anything else. I may still have a few samples of the retin-A micro left to try here and there, but I definitely won't be able to apply it nightly.
You mix EVOO and castor oil together to use as a cleanser. Then you just massage it in and watch the black/white heads come right out. It's really great for clearing pores, and cheap! EVOO is very similar to your own sebum so it keeps your oilies in check. I don't really have many since I'm more normal to dry, but it still makes my face feel great and moisturized.
Since you used the cream for years, what benefits did you notice from it? I'm assuming you had some success to use it for so long. |

Kinerase is a great moisturizer, and I was worried my face would dry out w/o it, esp. on retin A, but it stayed the same. Not freaking out w/o it.
I put EVOO and castor oil on grocery list-do you mix it = parts? sounds cool to try. Also traded in my Dior eye makeup and lips for Almay (random choice), so far so good. Got hooked on mineral makeup (Bare Minerals) 6 mos ago, best thing that ever happened to me (ok, almost the best)- I dont even carry a compact anymore, end of the oil slicks. (I have ridiculous combo skin). Have you tried it? And if you only use a little at time, it lasts 4-ever! |

Here are a few links on the OCM:
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=5612
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=8539&highlight=ocm
Just adjust the amounts depending on your skin type. I do about 60% EVOO and 40% castor and that works pretty well for my normal to dry skin.
I tried a few samples of MMU (mineral make-up) from Cory Cosmetics and Pure Luxe but I haven't quite found the one for me. Pure Luxe was good but I guess the samples I got were just way to light for the foundation. I think I need to go have a MMU makeover or something to show me how to do it. Everytime I tried it made my face look worse with enlarged pores and deeper wrinkles. How did you get into it? [/url] |

okay- got my cleansing regime from long-hair forum, thank you! I am psyched to try. I saw the Bare Minerals info-mercial and decided to try. I never found a liquid make-up I liked so I wasnt wearing foundation ever- explains the maniacal skin care. I ordered 2 shades off QVC, and the mineral veil, they come with the brushes on QVC and no auto-ship. I screwed it up a few times b4 I figured out- less is more. When I used too much it looked bad, when you think you arent using enough, its fabulous. there is instructions on how to apply (the swirling into brush, and tapping off excess) that you cant avoid doing. It feels like nothing on my face and my skin is never greasy! super happy with it! |

That's great. There is a spa that sells Jane Iredale and I think I'll sign up for one of their free consultations. At least I'll get a free makeover out of it, even if I don't end up buying the product. And I'm like you, I've hated pretty much every liquid foundation I've ever tried so I don't wear any. Let me know how you like the OCM! ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

I checked out those links too! I have tried the OCM a couple of times...and I did notice that it took off my make up but didnt see the dramatic results everyone else did. I'm going to try using the the hot towel tonight. I love the idea!

Awww, I still have two days til my next Oil of Olay night.
Olivia - maybe you need to up the castor oil quantity. I think I might add a little to mine and see how that goes as well.
Darn it, you guys are really tempting me with the MMU. I just wish I had the money to spend on it but I'll be broke after all of my holiday gifts are purchased. Maybe I can just get some more samples for now since they're pretty cheap. |

Couldn't find castor oil last night. Looked in laxatives at grocery, too shy to ask pharmacist! Will try Walgreens today. Do you use bisque as a concealer or all over? I havent tried it but just spotted in catalog- want to get the BE "well-rested" for my eyes- have you tried that yet? Did O of O last night- cant keep my hands off my face today! put Nuetrogena spray tan on this morning- awesome- looks like I am back from vaca! (b-4 it even starts)and i am in Fla. so can get away with. |

You should find it in the laxatives section. Walgreens should have it for sure, but I did get mine at Kroger.
I've never tried the Neutrogena spray tan but I do really like the Jergen's natural glow lotion for that look as well. And it's very natural since it's a self tanner mixed with lotion for a very gradual tanning effect. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

I use bisque as a cover up...and have been dusting in my tzone...love it. I just ordered a bunch of samples from aromaleigh.com....theirs is less expensive than BE and I have heard raves about it on there...cant wait to get my samples. They are only $2.00.
I added more castor oil to mine and I AM HOOKED! I started mixing a bunch of oils together and have finally found the perfect combo!! I have my mom and sister hooked too! The key is the steaming...when I dont do that I notice a difference. Also if you put just a dab of castor oil on your palms and press it into your face you GLOW. I found castor oil at Whole Foods in the face stuff isle. Good luck. |

Olivia - What is your perfect OCM mix? I'm still just using about 60% EVOO and 40% castor, although I just realized the castor oil I bought isn't cold-pressed so I guess I'll have to truck it over to Whole Foods soon. Also, how do you do your steaming?
When you add the castor oil to your face for the glow, do you just press a little in and leave it on all day? Does it not dry you out? I'm curious since I'm trying to find the right product that give me that glow as well. |

I am going to buy the Olay Microderm stuff tonight. I bought Olay Total Effects 7X w/ VitaNiacin a couple of weeks ago and have been really impressed by it! It looks like my skin is really being "fed" the right ingredient as I am sporting a really healthy glow with it. I think if it were going to make me purge or break out it would have by now. I use rX Tazorac at night and the Olay during the daytime under my sunscreen.

I use equal parts EVOO,Castor,Sweet Almond and grapeseed...I also add a couple of drops of Lavender. I just take a clean white wash cloth and run it under really hot water...then I sit down and put my face in the towel for about 2 minutes....I do this about 3-4 times. I melts the oil and makeup away and really cleans out the pores.
I put a dab of castor on my palms and press it over my moisturizer. That is on the days when I wear no foundation...not even BE. I just makes your face shiny. |

Yeah, I've been doing the face wash thing but not repetitively. I wonder if it would work well with one of those facial steamers? I think you can get them at a pretty good price so it might be worth it. My stupid problem is that I have very naturally curly hair although I straighten it. So when I apply any kind of steam it ruins my hairdo. Oh well, I guess it's an easy price to pay for clean pores
Oh and I've got some grapeseed oil on order so I'll have to try a bit when it arrives! |

okay- finally tried the EVOO and castor! Besides the fact that I mixed enuf for about 200 people to do their faces, I dont think I rinsed enough. going to go get another hot towel. Still scared its going to make me break out, but keeping the faith. Put leftover mixture in fridge, hope thats ok.
Tamgirl, you meant cold-pressed OO, right,is that supposed to be better?
Where would I find grapeseed?? and lavender?
Olivia- thanks for tip on Aromaleigh, I had never heard of before. I ordered abuncha samples too!! |
