Serum Logic's Prevene Concentrated Early Signs Serum
Price: $39.95 for 60ml
This is the product that I switched to after using H20+ gel for a while. The main thing that attracted me was their claim of "no alcohol" since my only negative impression of H2O+ was the dry feeling that I got when I stopped using it for a day or two.
So anyways, this serum is a nice clear slightly thick liquid serum. It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper like many other brands in this "cosmeceutical" category. Very clean and medical looking, and easy to use with the dropper, but...Does it work? That's the main question, right?!
My skin tends to be oily in the T-zone and dry-ish in the other areas. What I am looking for in a product like this is 1) moisture and 2) balance of oil. I don't want my skin dried out and inflamed like a monkey's butt (can I say that?! haha!), but I don't want it covered with silicone, mineral oil, or vaseline either.
The good news is that this serum works very well for me. The main "effective" ingredient is matrixyl which you can find in many similar products. I am not sure if it really does anything, or if the other ingredients are the key. But in the end, I don't really care. I get the result that I want. And it has worked for me now for quite a few months, so I would say that I am now a full believer.
They also have an eye serum that I have tried with good results as well. The eye serum is a much different feeling though. (Maybe I should write a separate review of that one some day).
Oops...I am adding this onto my original post since I totally forgot to mention that this product is also supposed to prevent early wrinkles and/or reduce light wrinkles. That's not my main goal, so I don't pay much attention to it. But I figure if it is working that way, then great. An added bonus. For me, moisturizing is king (queen?), so that's why I use this serum. By moisturizing, I mean "high quality" moisturizing, i.e. long term increase in the moistness and resiliance of my skin. I can usually tell this by touching my skin on the surface but also by lightly pinching it between two fingers. If it is properly moisturized, it feels firm and not loose/flaky on the surface. This is what I want. On the other hand, there are lots of products that I have tried that only give a false (in my opinion) short term boost in surface moisture or they add some sort non-oily feeling oil on the surface (lots of the products that call themselves "sheer" have this effect on my skin).
OK, enough babbling. Bye for now!
