Does anyone else suffer from this? I wake up with my face crossed with these horrible deep lines from sleeping on my stomach/face.

It varies: sometimes nasolabial folds, sometimes right in the middle of the eyelid, lines on the forehead...

I can deal with the 11 lines between eyebrows (I use frownies for those and it seems to work. If I slack off though, they come back within a week of normal sleep Smile ).

Is there anything I can do to either:
1. Learn to not sleep on my stomach, or
2. Relax those post-sleep lines quicker? I swear they stay on for an hour or two and that's way too long.

I'll be interested to see what help anyone can offer for this because I have the same problem. I have a line under each eye. The left one being more noticeable, and mine NEVER to away!!!!

I have the same problem because I sleep on my stomach. I have deep lines under my right eye since that is the side that gets smooshed into the pillow.

I hope there is something...but I think the answer is to sleep on your back Crying or Very sad

I think to control how you sleep you'd have to be half-conscious at all times and that defeats the purpose of sleep! I know I can't relax when I'm on my back. It's either side or stomach for me.

To make matters worse, I sleep without a pillow (since I was 8 yo) and I can't fall asleep on a pillow.

Has anyone used one of those "beauty sleep" pillows that curve under your neck and your spine ends up being straight-aligned? Did it work? did they smell bad? I tried one of these pillows, but it smelled (think it was PVA or PVC, something like that) and even though it said it will air out in a week or so... I just couldn't get over the fact that this is some stinky chemical I'll be inhaling even after it airs out.

Maybe I should plaster my entire face with frownies? Husband will "looove" that!

I have enough sun damage, to worry about this literally physical damage, too. I just don't know what to do at this point.

I remember reading in a thread a while ago that a satin pillowcase can help this problem. It also helps your hair from getting all tangled.

The only thing that helped me sleep on my back was a u shaped pillow like the one on the link below. Even in the middle of the night when I would try to go to the side, it wouldn't let me for some reason.

I had to train myself to sleep on my back. It took a little while, but it's almost effortless now. And the lines under my eyes are nearly visible in the morning!

Could this be a little fluid retention??? I notice this when I drink something (and its usually diet coke) before I go to bed.

Satin pillow cases def does help, also ICE cold water on face, splash it alot and the creases come out alot faster. I've tried forever to stop sleeping on my side or stomach to no avail.

satin pillow cases do help this. I have also noticed, as someone pointed out..a little water retention does not help matters. As well, as I think if your skin is not hydrated enough, it tends to have creases. I am with you on the whole sleeping thing. I don't want to think about waking up with a crease, I want to SLEEP, peacefully. I guess we have to pick our poison.

Buckwheat donut/travel pillow will be the first thing I try.

I used to sleep on my back, then something must've changed. Probably the character Smile I mean, they say that how you sleep relates to your character. May have to work a bit on that part.

What do you mean about water retention? Does it cause one to sleep on their stomach/face?

Water retention causes your skin to be "plump", and hold lines, creases etc. It is like when you wear socks all day and then take the socks off and you can see on your ankles where your sock line is. That is mostly due in part to peoples ankles swell from normal water retention.

Ok, that was my first idea what you meant by water retention. But no, that's not it, at least for me.

I literally sleep in one position for a very long time (my limbs go numb). And I feel when lifting my face up that that's how my face was "folded". I don't really have a lot of skin, it's just that I'm a very deep sleeper and probably don't toss and turn around enough. Not because I'm very tired, just always been "knocked out senseless" like that, but it's now causing these problems.

Thank you for the suggestions! Will try the pillow and then a satin sheet (since can't really try a satin pillowcase).

You list some very good tips here. My Mom always told me to sleep on a satin pillowcase. She did and her skin looked so smooth her whole life. My hairdresser says that during the night your face gets caught on a cotton pillowcase and you get those pillow creases on your face in the morning. Cotton naturally absorbs the moisture from your skin and your hair. Moisture that your skin needs to be healthy.

I found a company on the web A Touch Of Satin that has a page that talks about all the benefits of sleeping on satin. Google them if you if you want to read what they have to say. They have some absolutely beautiful satin pillowcases. If you're going to spend 6 hours a night sleeping, you might as well sleep on one that is good for your skin and hair.

A lady at work who has 3 creases on her face from sleeping against her first on her left side said that strivectin was her miracle to fill in those lines!!

I started getting small sleep lines around my eyes and read about using paper tape - I have not looked back since. It has totally eliminated the lines. I use it every night!

I use frownies at night for certain areas and I just started using the Save Your Face pillowette....its great and works wonderfully...I don't wake up to a creased face anymore....

I just read a magazine this weekend, I think instyle or something like that. Sleeping on your stomach is the worst thing according to most dr. It's just because of the friction with the pillow, but you face needs to support the heavy skull of 5 lbs or so. Dr claimed they can even tell your sleeping position from your wrinkle on your face.

Anyway, try change your sleeping position. try to sleep 2 pillow high or maybe in upright position as if you have nasal decongestion and take sleeping pill. start doing this from weekend and then, see how it can improve after a week...
