Question ladies, I did some searching on the site before I posted this, but can not seem to locate anything similar. I have these hard, tiny lumps under the skin on various parts of my face. They do not hurt, they are not red in color and they never go away. They do not come to a head, they are tiny flesh color bumps. I have a couple on my checks and a couple on my chin. They have been there for years, I mean years. Nothing seems to remove them. I once tried to poke a tiny needle in one to see if I could get anything out of it (like a clogged pore), but all I did was make a scab and when the scab healed, the tiny flesh colored bump was still there. I don't know what they are called, so it is hard for me to seek a product. (I know what cysts are, I have had a few of them)..they are painful and for the more part large and they hurt. These bumps are tiny, littler than a pimple per say. Any suggestions?

I had small lumps on my forehead that sound familiar to what you're describing. When I started using the PCA cleanser for oily skin they vanished. I don't actually even have oily skin, but this totally worked.

Can you tell me any other results you have seen with the PCA cleanser? I do not have oily skin per say either, but I like my skin to feel clean, and I like my cleanser to take of makeup. Can you give me some details? Are you still using it? THX

It sounds like facial warts, you might want to check it out with your dermatologist. They're harmless, but are caused by a virus so they come back (like cankersores). I had mine lasered once, burned twice, and they just come back in different spots. I know it sounds gross, but you get used to it Rolling Eyes

I Have a friend that had facial warts (I know gross) but I saw what hers looked like. Mine don't look anything like it, not even the pictures I have seen on line...I don't think that is it. Someone told me that it is just Seborrheic keratoses (here is the explanation they sent me.
Quote:
Seborrheic keratoses may look like warts but they don't contain human papilloma viruses that cause warts. As they develop some can have a very rough surface with deep pits and fissures almost like cauliflower being pulled apart.

I asked my derm about this and he said "um hard to say", so I asked another doctor and they said "could be". So you see, no one will help me, so I thought would ask the experts here.

Hmm, I don't have that so I can't compare and tell you... But do yours look like cauliflower fissures? (I'm sorry but that image is REALLY scary!!)

Have a look at this thread and see if it helps

If all else fails and it truely disturbs you, ask your derm if you can get them zapped. At least you can be bump-free temporarily! Wink

ps. Now that everyone here on EDS knows I got facial warts, you all must think I'm so gross! Crying or Very sad

If they are not uniform, (look like cauliflower) they are probably Sebacious Hyperplasia. These can be frozen off, burned off, you can get a laser treatment or get them excised.

I think it is Sebaceous Hyperplasia. I did some reading and looked up various pictures, and that is exactly what mine looks like. Now, I read that Vit. A or Tretnoin cream/gel can help. Off to see about that. Thanks

Well I looked it up and it doesn't look quite as scary as imagined! Very Happy In fact, I've had those too, but my facialist just called it an abnormal oil gland. They are easily zapped. Good luck!

Major coincidence happened to me yesterday, After posting about treatments to get rid of sebaceous hyperplasia. Got a facial and was asked if I wanted to be a model for a company that is trying treatment for SH using electrolysis. (Normal uses for electrolysis is hair removal - needle is used to heat and destroy hair root.) So, I will let everyone know how that goes - the training class where I am a model is April 10th. (Should I feel lucky that my skin is so bad that I get free treatments?!?? Confused )

You should not try any products or facial. You should see the doctor. Are those flat on the surface? If yes, those are flat wart. If you break any, it will have more deveoped. If they are not flat and under skin, they may be atheroma. Don't worry too much. Those kinds of things are usually developed when our immune system are weak, but you definitly need see doctors.

bergquis, I think what you may have is a "blind pimple" or a flesh-colored papule. I've gotten these lately and, yeah, they stay for months and months.

The only way I've gotten rid of them is to make them come to a head. I had one on my forehead for the longest time, but a facialist steamed and poked it gently. It wasn't until a few days later that it came to a head and I was finally able to extract it.

Benzoyl Peroxide may work, so the PCA cleanser could do the trick. The only problem is that BP AGES you so I'd stay away from that.

Some suggest using hot compresses, apple cider vinegar, tee tree oil or honey w/ a band-aid to make it come to a head. I read elsewhere that a lady used a TCA chemical peel. Do a search and you'll find other suggestions. And to be on the safe side double check w/ your dermatologist. Good Luck!
