I have quite a few blackheads on my nose! I have tried things such as steaming my face, creams that are 'designed' for blackheads. Not much success to be honest!

So does anyone know anything that works?
Thanks alot Smile

Maybe you can wash your face especially your nose with some salt, just a little salt. And then frolementing your nose gently.

After doing that, put some astringent lotion, you will feel ok.

Kiehl's Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion is the star product, you may have a try.

Blackheads are stubborn. Retinoid products, BHA's, and gentle extraction are most effective.

Dpenn is 100% correct. Those are the only things that will help long term.

I have had good luck using MaMa lotion or PSF 5% SA on my nose.

Not a cure but both of these products do help a lot.

Hands down the best for blackheads is Epidermx II, this was a huge problem for me. I have blackheads that have been there for over 40 years that are gone now. EDS sells it and greatnewskin, it is the best!

I did not really see my blackheads improve with Epidermx II. Maybe for those that are able to use this daily there is an improvement, but it is much too harsh for me to use more than weekly.

Definitely a well-formulated BHA serum or lotion--the salicylic acid gets inside your pores to clear them out. Some surface exfoliation (with retinoids, AHAs or by physical means like scrubs or face brushes) is good to use in tandem with BHA.

It's a big problem for me as well.

I figured that patience and persistence is must to deal with this.

Regular use of clay mask could help to absorb excess oil in your pores so takes longer for blackheads to show up.

Use of my Pretika Sonic Dermabrasion really removed new blackheads and even prevented new ones from forming. However, I would say the ones that were really deep and had been there for a while (before I got my Pretike) only disappeared after some professional help (a good aesthetician)

Besides exfoliation, especially with Salicylic Acid, mud/clay masks might help.

This may be a silly question. But do you mean blackheads that can be squeezed out or pores that look dark but there is nothing to squeeze out. I unfortunately have some of each. What can be done about the kind you can't squeeze and yet stay dark.

I'd like to know the answer to that as well. My beautician has told me that I don't have blackheads on my nose but that they are pores which turn black once exposed to the sun. She said that there is nothing really that you can do to get rid of them but a good skin routine will help make them look less obvious Sad.

Salicylic acid is a must for cleaning out the pores. I also got results from doing the aspirin mask. Get some aspirin from your drug store that is NOT coated. I put a couple in a little lid cover and add some water to it. Let the water soften the aspirin and then mush it up! Spread it over your face and maybe let it be for about 10 minutes and then wash it off. Washing it off is also exfoliating those pores. I add some jojoba oil to the water mixture, and that makes this all work that much more. Good luck!

It's a big problem for me too.
I brought a Clarisonic brush, hoping it could help me to clean the pore and avoid the emergence of blackhead.

I find that exfoliating really helps. 2-3 times per week. Plus after cleansing try using an astringent to close pores.

French green clay, bentonite clay, rhassoul clay, etc etc There are so many woderful clay in the world and I thank nature every week for them Smile
Do your research and try to get your hands on pure studd with no chemicals...Depends how oily or dry your skin is, hence the appropriate clay. F.e. green clay for really oily skin!
I steam my face with bunch of herbs (chamomile. lavender, rose, etc) and then apply it, I havent gotten a blackhead in a while!

I just wonder how you shrink the pores? I have some black heads on the nose also and they cause the pores to enlarge.

Thanks

I have terrible black heads and can say that PSF's 5% BHA helped a lot. I still have blackheads but this seemed to clean most of them out.

I have had my Clarisonic for about a year, and see a huge difference when I use it regularly. Also, my esthetician does A LOT of extracting for me during my facials and that helps with the blackheads, too. It seems like whenever I tried putting something on my pores, which are primarily on my nose, to cover then up or minimize them, it just makes the blackheads worse. Then (sorry to be gross) it results in more stuff to squeeze out. Ugh...I've been battling it for over 20 years. Rolling Eyes
