I`m sort of making a research(for myself) on organic skin care products. And I would really like to know
from those of you who use it, What can you tell about organic products? Especially, does it anti allergic, or is it individual and one can still develop any sort of allergic reaction to it? Do you see any positive differences in your skin condition after turning to organic products? Is it possible to mix organic products with non-organic ones(like, for instance, using organic cream with regular sun protective creme, or applying non-organic serum (althouth consisting of natural components) before organic day cream)?
Sorry for so many questions . I just really like to learn more about organic products and their usage.
Thanks in advance, |

Hi Yulia,
I am Yulia too )
I've been using organic makeup, and I use organic sunscreens etc., in terms of skincare even though I am organic follower and believer, I chose Dr. Hauschka.
Mind you, a reputable natural company that's been around for a long time, and has very good quality control methods, and uses plants etc may be better than a newly starting organic company, just because they don't have the means to do all the checkups. |

I love Dr. Hauschka and Decleor. I have sensitive skin and have used both for years. I have never had any of their products cause a reaction. I also use several oils such as cod liver, olive oil, emu oil, jojoba, etc. from various places for various uses and haven't had any issues.
I do mix use with a prescription sunscreen and various IS Clinical serums. I have not had any issues with mixed use. |

Hi I use Dr Hauschka and it IS organic however the ingredients are produced bio-dynaminically and always have been it is in fact considered by DrH to be one step beyond organic. They have a good explanation on the UK website I believe and also in the Dr Hauschka book.
So it is classed as biodynamic as a brand rather than organic. |

Lucia,
I so agree with you regarding Dr.H products.
I guess we have to differentiate that certified organic is different from organic. |

Hi Yulia
I know you specified organic but i'd like to include natural products as well (eg, such as carriers oils, essential oils etc that aren't necessarily organic).
I have mostly positive reactions from using natural and/or organic products. i think any skin is going to benefit from products that aren't full of parabans and chemicals and using ingredients that haven't been grown in fields misted with chemicals and growth enhancing "stuff". our bodies and skin aren't designed to digest/absorb those sorts of nasties, and i think the hugely increased rates of asthma, eczema, hayfever etc etc say it all. it's our bodies retaliating.
However, like any product at all - your skin will like some things and won't like others. this is true of organic/non-organic and natural/non-natural. it's just trial and error.
i love using dr hauschka and also neal's yard, i've also tried the "Jason" organic brand but only one thing. i also use tonnes of "natural" products (but which are probably not organic, but i'm working my way up to affording to replace everything!) such as carrier oils, essential oils, apple cider vinegar, aspirin masks, witch hazel. i believe my skin and body can handle these products as they are stil in the same state as nature intended. Whilst i'm not saying my opinions are right, i think it says something that ive never suffered from asthma, eczema, hayfever etc.
I do mix and match products - for example i do adore dermalogica. but i really do try to limit my use of non organic/natural products. i have noticed quicker and more positive changes to my skin quite quickly using natural products as opposed to non-natural commercial brands which have very little effect at all.
the only disadvantage is the expense i find. organic will always be more expensive, which puts so many people off as it's simply not affordable in the long run. i wish this could change! for now, i've load up on natural ingredients but that aren't really organic but it'll still be heaps better for you.
Hope some of that helps. i'm a huge believer in it all - in every aspect of my life (ie, natural cleaning products for the home, organic food in my kitchen, alternative therapies before dosing up on antibiotics etc).

I am currently using Dr Hauschka and Jurlique, Dr H is considered biodynamic and Jurlique is organic. I thought I would give being quite pure a try and I do eat a healthy diet with quite a bit of organic food, and use non toxic cleaning products etc. I think it is good for me. Regarding allergies, my understanding is that people can also be allergic to natural or organic products ie to lemon, orange lavender etc. I know I can't use citric products as they irritate my skin, but for me this is a sensitivity not a true allergy. I think it is important to use products which aren't too harsh regardless of whether they are organic or not. HTH |

I have used Juice Beauty, Suki, PSF, and now Jurlique. There are different items that I like from each line.
I have sensitive skin, have always reacted to mineral oil products, as well as stinging nettle. When I tried to go natural/organic it took some time for me to figure it out. In the last couple of years I have developed rosacea, but very mild. It has been difficult finding a line where the products don't bother my skin. Samples are great to use, and that's how I found Jurlique. |
