Flat Facial Mole Removal?

Hi,

I am new here Smile

I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove facial moles?

I have a few on my face (ranging from pencil eraiser size, to pin size).

Some are 100% flat, some are very slightly raised.

I went to a derm to ask about their removal, but they said that because they are only slightly raised, the majority of the mole will be beneath the skin - and excision is the only option Sad

1) I do not want to use surgery, that will scar
2) I do not want to use Itworkspaste/Dermatend/C-Herb etc. This provokes a violent immune response, and wont be a good idea for the face

Does anyone have working methods to remove these moles?

I would think there should be some way to allow the immunue system to slowly break it apart over several months if necessary, instead of violently doing it in a few days (Itworkspaste/CHerb etc), in an effort for there to be no scar at all.

Anyone?

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that slicing a tiny piece of fresh garlic and taping it over the mole can help in removal.

i believe the most effective way to solve ur concern is by a simple procedure by the docs. i did a few and perfectly happy. u will out and going in a wk's time.

You can get moles lasered off - I would consult another dermatologist because excision is certainly not the only option. Just one note of caution, moles should always be checked to make sure that they are not cancerous. Fiddling with them yourself can be harmful.

I think doing something without the dermatological surgeon could be suicidal. Considering the current epidemic of skin cancer here in the USA, Australia and even Latin America and taking into account the limited abilities even by physicians to properly diagnose it the last thing one should want is to play games that can cost one's life.

The only way the definitive diagnosis can be done is by biopsy results after the mole is removed (via excision, not by laser). There are many ways to minimize the scars now days to the point of making them almost invisible.

My suggestion would be to see a dermatologist with emphasis on oncology to have them properly checked and then have either a dermatological surgeon or a plastic surgeon to remove them.

bethany thank you very much for posting that site. I recently bought a mole removal serum from Forces of Nature and starting using it a week ago. Nothing basically has happened but they did say it could take up to 5 weeks. The apple cider vinegar seems a lot quicker. Smile

Okay of course as soon as I post that I haven't seen any results from my forces of nature mole removal product I noticed last night the mole as definitely shrunk in size. The colour has not changed the mole seems softer to the touch but those are the only changes. If someone looked at the mole they would never know anything was going on.
I am not experiencing the same type of "burning" as described when using apple cider vinegar. The skin around the mole is not adversely effected even thought the serum has been applied there.
This might be a case where patience really is a virtue.

I would not try something on your own.
DH had one removed by a derm. Depends on the mole but they pretty much just shave it off and then you keep polysporin on it as it heals. It healed up nicely.

I had a mole removed, but it was on my shoulder, close to the neck, it was actually almost all external, and was really annoying - had it all my life. Doc did a needle, that was the most painful part of the whole procedure, and then he cut it off with a scalpel. Healed nice and fast and I am glad to be rid of it.

I've had many moles/freckles removed by laser on my face. I had it done in Korea when I was a freshman in high school. As I got older some started to resurface, but only a small spec. There is a lady at my church at does it too, so I went to her to get done. Wasn't as great and painless as when I was in Korea. So bottom line.. it works, could be painful depending on where you go, and healing time take about a month. FYI- when I had it removed in Korea, I was told not to wash my face for a week and that I was suppose to wait until they scab and fall off on it's own.

Unfortunately there is no technology today to give the 100% correct diagnoses without extracting it and doing a biopsy (ABCD - asymmetry, border, color, diameter is a very crude way to do it as is looking with a microscope at the mole). There are currently many lawsuits when skin cancer had not been diagnosed by the derm, and it had caused a patient his life.

It is better to play it safe then sorry, especially when there is an epidemic of it around us.

If the derm suggested to me to laser off a mole - I would change the derm.

I have spoken with a derm, but she said that my facial moles are too deep - surgery to cut them out would leave a scar Sad

Brief research on the internet suggests this should be treatable - Things like c-herb rapidly destroy the mole, why cant I do something to slowly destroy it?

I've had small (pencil-dot size) moles lasered off at the derm, and a few of them have come back in the same spot after a year or so. Like Street, I have a big mole (about 3mm diameter) that my derm said was too 'deep' for laser. He recommended either 'shaving' it flat, or surgically excising it. Shaving may reduce the size of the mole on the surface, but is purely cosmetical in that the mole is still there. Surgical removal is the best option if you have skin cancer concerns, but it will leave a scar that 'may' be improve the scar. In other words, no laser can eradicate the scar. In your situation, Street, if your doctor says your mole is OK and you trust him, then you need to weigh which is less important to you-- the appearance of a scar, or a mole.

I have also tried the method described by Ladyluck for the small moles on my face. It didn't work very well for me becuase I kept forgetting about the scab after about 3 days and when I accidently washed it off, it left me with the same size mole WITH a red ring around it that didn't go away. In general I don't believe these things can be 'fixed' without a doctor's supervision. So don't waste your money.

Hi!

Does anyone have any thoughts on this topic:

Consider for a moment that you can appear to completely eradicate a mole using C-Herb.

When applying C-Herb to a mole, it appears to have the immune system surround it and destory it in a matter of days.

The side effect of this is that you are left with a crater in the skin where the mole was, which won't heal properly and will form a scar.

So - a few questions for discussion:

1) If we can provoke an immune response with C-Herb that is violent, can we provoke one that is slower? So that the mole is slowly taken away by the immune system in low quantities; hopefully meaning no scar forms and the mole appear to just 'fade away'?

2) Are there any creams or something that would provoke this sort of response? Something in the diet you can eat? I have read that having higher levels of potassium help remove moles, but this is never cited anywhere.

I really think there should be something that can be done to provoke a slow immune response to the moles, instead of a violent one done by C-Herb.

Does anyone have any ideas/thoughts?

I gave you a link earlier in the thread with a bunch of ideas (you may want to READ it), and Alley mentioned a product with a much slower response rate above as well.

And everyone else said go to a derm or forget it.

How many other ideas/thoughts do you need?
