I bought PTR's Continuous Sunscreen Mist SPF30. I sprayed it on my face directly and it stung! whew! The sting did go away immediately but it put me in a state of shock for a while.
Serves me right for not reading the directions fully. It did say I can spray directly if use as body spray, but for face I need to spray on hands first then apply to the face.
Interesting instructions...I wonder why I need spray on hands first |

I would say the reason you need to spray it in your hands first is so you don't get spray in your eyes. |

Probably stings because its in an alcohol base. I could never use that on my face.
Agree the reason for spraying on your hands to apply to your face is so dont get it in your eyes. |

I didn't realize it is alcohol base. I am not putting that in my face again. I was looking for a "sprayable" sunscreen that I can take in my outside run/walk. |

I think almost all sprayable SS's in a can are in an alcohol base. Its what makes them spray finely and dry quickly. |

Hi, new here, but I have had the same experience with another brand's sunscreen that is sprayable. It stung, too. So I don't think it's just your brand. And yes, I agree with the other posters that it probably got in your eyes. I can't put sunscreen too close to my eyes or it will burn. I don't know what ingredients are responsible, but I try to keep it from within half an inch of my eyes. You have less control when you spray, and the micromist from the spray gets everywhere so fast. |
