Hello I am trying to replace my favourite lip gloss that I used to be able to buy in Canada that has been discontinued. It came in a little pot was sheer colour, shiny and moisturized your lips like crazy.
I just bought the Shiny Lip Gloss base from Essential Wholesale. I melted and added flavour but I find it a bit waxy. I was wondering if anyone has tried to do this. I was thinking of adding a couple of drops of avocado oil (or the like) to soften it up.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Alley,
I purchased a very similar lip gloss base from makingcosmetics.com a few years ago and it came with instructions (sorry I no longer have them) but it did require adding an oil of your choice to make it the consistency you like. Without the addition of oil it would have been way to waxy.

DM thanks, good to know it wasn't just me. I think I read that caster oil is what is in most lip balms so I will give it another go with that. |

Alley,
Yes on the Castor oil, adds more shine and staying power. I also like to mix a little olive or avocado, or any good hydrating fruit/nut oil in as well.
