I would use polysporin on it keep a bandaid over the area if you can. You may also want consider something like scarguard.
This is all assuming that you dont have any open/broken skin. |

Avocado oil is healing, although I don't know if it's good for scalded skin.
A couple of month ago I had irritated, burning face from using too many acids. Avocado oil calmed down my skin and restored it to my normal level.
Good luck, I hope you get better soon! |

Too bad you didn't post this dilemma as soon as it happened, in which case I would have told you to apply ice immediately and frequently to neutralize the skin..
At this point I concur with Bellezza on the *healing* (ish) powers of Avocado Oil. Vitamin E Oil wouldn't hurt either. In addition I would add that you not pick any scabs (if that's the case), and just let your skin naturally renew itself.
Also, depending on how much damage it caused, you will notice the *new* skin looking pinkish. Be sure to protect it with a total sunblock, because it will be very vulnerable to UV rays.. I'd recommend "Baby Faces SPF 50 or 70" which is waterproof, and will really protect.. Just keep in mind it needs to be applied 30 minutes prior to stepping outside (just like any sunscreen!) |

Burn wound care is my RN specialty:
Allways with a burn first apply cold water to stop the heat penetration.
First degree burn where skin is red with little weeping- keep clean and covered in an ointment like Vasaline wound care/polysporin/etc.
Second degree burns where there is some blistering and weeping- do same paying extra attention that infection does not occur. See a doctor for Rx Silverden if its a large area.
Third Degree where skin is sloughthing off and bleeding- go to hospital.
Organic/ healing oils like Vit E, Emu, Avacado, etc acyually interfere with wound healing if applied to a new wound. Wait until scab/crust has formed before applying anything like that. |
