I want to make a vitamin c serum, but recipes seems to say that we need to get l-ascorbic acid. so would ascorbic acid not work then? |

osiris753, L-Ascorbic Acid and the common designation of "Ascorbic Acid" are the same thing. The "L" is often dropped for expediency. D-Ascorbic Acid, on the other hand, is always given with the D isomer designation. (If you are interested in the scientific explanations of chirality and isomers you might want to look them up sometime for kicks and grins.)
L-Ascorbic Acid (Ascorbic Acid) is the one you want for bioavailability and the production of collagen.
