I am leaving this Saturday for a 7 day Disney cruise. We are going to St Croix, St Thomas, etc. I have been using the NuDerm products for about a month now. I can already tell a difference in my skin in a month, so I do not want to quit using the products while on vacation.
I purchased the SPF 32 Sunblock and the SPF 35 Healthy Skin Protection. Is this really enough to protect my face from burning?? (I also intend to wear a hat.) How often would you reapply the sunscreen products? I'm just a little nervous about how fresh the skin on my face is and I do not want to mess it up.
thanks! |

Reapply every 2 hours, Chrissie, or whenever you get out of water. Make sure to wear your hat at all times in the sun, too! Have a great cruise, it sounds like a lot of fun! |

I was diagnosed with Melasma the end of March...some of what I think I had was acne scars. My derm recommended Obagi new derm with retin-a. I purchased the blender and retin-a which I used at night. This dramatically helped my skin. But I went to Mexico a couple weeks ago and my skin got completely worse! Immediately I noticed huge brown spots on my cheeks and above my upper lip. I used a SPF 55 sunblock constantly and reapplied all day long. I'm not sure what to do now. I'm kind of afraid that the hydroquoine made it worse? should I continue to use these products? HELP! |

hascallmarie, I would definitely go back to see your derm. They should advise you on what you should do. What sunscreen did you use? |

thank you....sorry, I posted this in the wrong area! but thank you!! I used a neutrogena spf55 water/sweat proof. I spoke with someone at my derm's office and they told me to continue using the blender/retin-a. I'm not sure if I should go get a 2nd opinion from different dermatologist.... |

You could get a 2nd opinion. Unless you are planning to be in more sun, I would try what your derm said and continue with the blender/retin a. I would switch to a different sunscreen - try one of the Obagi ones. Sunscreens are tricky, and you really have to play around a lot with them to see what keeps you protected. I got no protection from the so-called "best" sunscreens with Mexoryl, but the physical sunscreens work for me. Good luck! |
