I am completely new to this forum. I want to follow Kassy's 15% Vitamin C serum with ferulic acid. I would be grateful if any one can help me with my questions. I want to know, can I replace 2 tsp of SKB with 2 tsp of Fresh aloe gel (from my plant) or with any other ingredient such as glycerine. Will it affect the PH of the serum? Secondly, I have pure vitamin E oil (sundown natural- synthetic) but when I add it to the serum, it does not dissolve at all, any suggestions? Thanks, Aliha |

I've used aloe gel previously. Not fresh, but purchased gel. Be sure to test the pH after you mix the C serum, it should be 2.5-3.0. Ideally, use a preservative if you use fresh aloe. If you don't want to use a preservative, then make only a small amount and refrigerate. Use up in two weeks or less.
On the vit E, as an oil, it doesn't mix well. You must shake before using. Or use an emulsifier, such as polysorbate 80. |
