I am female, 40, combination skin, fine lines at eyes & deeper nasolabial lines, some puffiness at eyes, moderate redness in cheeks, chin & nose, medium sized pores in t-zone.
I use sunscreen daily. I no longer smoke or drink alcohol.
I purchased a course of 8 aluma treatments on the face and neck. I had a treatment each week for 7 wks. As the treatment is painful, but effective, at higher heat settings, I forced myself to endure higher levels.
Some superficial bruising occurred, which by taking arnica tablets in the two days prior to treatment and arnica cream following treatment, went away after 1-2 days. Results started to become evident after 4 wks, as this is the time suggested for change in collagen levels.
I noticed a great difference in the texture of my skin. Sagging that had started to become apparent at the cheeks and neckline was improved. It is always difficult to quantify this, but I felt the treatment had taken 5-7 years off my face.
The horizontal lines on my neck have almost disappeared.
The nasolabial lines are less deep, one by about 50%, and the other by about 70%. These are my greatest concern and I was considering fillers.
There is some decrease in the fine crows feet but no change in the deeper lines below my eyes. The area of skin above my eyes, at the eye socket is lifted.
I did notice the texture of the skin on my forehead seemed 'bumpy' and uneven in week 7 and that is the reason I stopped treatment. I felt my skin needed a break. I was concerned the thin skin on my forehead may be too delicate for such a radical treatment. 4 weeks later and my forehead has improved.
I would be interested to hear anyone elses experiences. I would love to know how many top up treatments are required. I have been advised to attend monthly, but financially this seems steep as a course costs between 2,000-3,000euros. |
