Anyone just starting out on the OBAGI NUDERM program want to communicate results. I started the system Thursday night, the 13th of December. All is well so far. No redness, No peeling, maybe a little dry without using my normal moisturizer. Anyone out there at my stage or a little a head to compare notes? Thanks. |

I haven't tried this yet but am just wondering which products from this line you are using? There seems to be an awful lot and I'm anxious to give this line a try due to all the raves but the amount of products even from within the Nuderm line is dizzying! |

I started Nu Derm on 12/7 and am loving it so far. I was red, sore, and peeled quite a bit on the first 4 or so days, but things have calmed down since then. My face is still pink and my peeling just depends in the day. Some days I peel a whole lot and some days I just peel a little. I carry action with my put apply around my mouth in the evening. I have noticed that I am starting to breakout a little bit, but nothing too bad. How are you liking Nu Derm? I know there are about 3 of us on here who started within a few days of eachother.

I too just started on that Thursday night, but I only purchased 2 products, Clear and Blender.
I have used Taz and Retin-A for a year and a half now. I've even used hydroquinone on occasion (but it dries out my skin so I haven't been consistent.)
I have extremely dry, eczema prone skin, though not excessively sensitive (if that's possible.) I only peel occasionally on Retin-A these days, and I use .1%.
My plan is to use the Clear and Blender but also use moisturizers as needed. There is no way I can handle a dry parched face. Plus it's cold and wintery here, so I put aquaphor on my face to go outside if it's snowing or blustery.
My face is reddish and definitely hot after using the products. It's not from the Retin-A, but most likely the lactic acid in the blender. I also will use different mild acids that I have, a few PeterThomasRoth products, and a green apple peel.
I'm 44 and trying to clear up sunspots on my lower cheeks. It would be nice to see the wrinkles lessen too, but that hasn't even happened with the Retin-A.
I also have some mild flaking already, mostly around the sides of my mouth, the marionette line area, and just under my jawline. I'm not using the product on my neck at this time as my neck is super sensitive.
For cleanser I use Vichy Purete Thermal, also some mild scrubbing beads from PTR, and sometimes Cetaphil cleanser. Moisturizers will be from Vichy, Cetaphil, Nivea Cream (in the blue tub) and Aquaphor. |

Im somewhat confused after reading some of the post. It seems my regimine may not be quite as harsh as some. I am not using any Clear in the AM, just the cleanser, toner and sunblock. Do you think that may be the reason for the delay in peeling? |

Take a look at the Obagi website. I do the protocol for use they have in the patients section. I was pink the first day and red and peeling by day 2. Action is a moisturizer that is only to be used when needed. Good Luck:)

Thanks for listing the products you use naenae 52, I think I'll check out the Obagi website as well to check out their recommendation as Faline mentioned.
Can you use these products on your chest area as well or are they just for your face? I've got some blotchiness there as well that I'd like to get rid of! |

My regimine according to my Dr. is a Moderately agressive approach. My peeling, redness and pain have been minimal. Im assuming that she will step up the program on my 3 week visit. I am also scheduled to have a microdermabration every three weeks and that may be a reason too for the moderately aggresive approach.
As far as the neck and chest area, I did ask about that. She said to feather down from your face the PM program to your neck but to be especially careful arond any wrinkle areas in your neck as this will sit between skin folds and burn like the dickens, and to omit the chest area as this area is alot more sensitive than the face and neck. She had suggested that I do that region seperatly after some progress with the face. She said that I would not be sorry, because some people have alot of sensitivity to even the face and neck and she didnt want to discourage her patients with more pain.
I am 5 days out now and have no pain, and some flaking. No peeling yet. |

Well, I for one am giving up on this. My face has been so hot and flaky, and more hot and more hot. It's like a constant hotflash, and I can't handle it.
I haven't even used any of the product since last night, and almost 24 hours later and my face is still burning up.
I'm going to let my skin heal and soothe itself for a few days, then I will slowly go back to my retin-a. I will probably use Clear a few times a week to fade spots, but it will be a long time before I try blender with retin-a again. I think that is too much for my super dry skin.
I will continue reading to see what others experience. |

I'm already not sure what's up. So yesterday I was determined to quit, and didn't use any of the products. This morning my face was a major flaking mess, neck too (and I don't put it on my neck.)
So I put oil on my face and rubbed and rubbed...then rubbed with a baby washcloth. Then I got in the shower and more skin was just peeling off under my fingers. I used the Oil of Olay dermabrasion stuff (the orange one) and gently scrubbed, but I didn't use the lactic acid.
Before any of this though, I noticed one of my sunspots on my cheek had raised and was sore and raw. That's a bit scary, but it wasn't raised yesterday...so it's coming to the surface.
So I did a super thin coat of Clear (just a smear) and also moisturizer and then my sunscreen.
I guess I have to accept that skin types are so different. Someone with dry sensitive skin (I'm sensitive to acids, and Clear and Blender both have lactic acid) will react differently than someone with acne.
I'm going to go as slow as possible with this, but I will continue, and I will keep an eye on that spot on my lower cheek. |

I have one too, but mine is a kerotosis. It came to the surface and scabbed over this morning. They told me sometimes these fall off with Obagi. I guess that is what is happening and yours is probably doing the same. I am encouraged by this. I have a few more to go. Does yours look like a darkened pimple that kinda scabbed over? |

I have been on it 2 weeks on Thursday and my skin if you look at it the wrong way is sensative and I have had no trouble. Iam using the NuDerm system w/Vit C 10% in the am and the blender/retional every third day.I do wake up to slight peeling and my face does hurt but I have been using the Action and during the day generic Hydracortisone cream. I only use the smallest amount of each product the 1/2 gram crease of pinky to middle and although I want to say ouch my face is pink no red but Iam seeing results. So if at all possible hang in or check w/your Dr to see if they need to customize the plan more for you. HTH |
