What have you tried so far? Is your acne cystic at all?
If OTC products are not working I would see a derm. |

Acne is not cystic and I have not been consistent about sticking to one product, have also gained alot of weight recently
Have tried some benzoyl peroxide face wash, occasionally retin-A
Just getting a little tired of the constant breakouts |

What ever you use its important to use consistency. Acne products are really more about prevention then correction.
I would suggest trying a BHA (Paula's Choice is good) and a leave on 2.5% BP (proactiv, neutrogena and paula's choice all make good one's). But when first starting out you may want to use on alternate days to cut down on irritation. |

1-2g of msm a day helps keep mine at bay incredibly. anything anti-inflammatory is worth doing some research into. |

I have the same problem. I'm using Retin_A but I cannot say that it helps me much with blemishes Also, Retin-A in gel form is better than in cream.
I'm planing to try Salicylic Acid Peel, since I was told that it can dramatically help with blackheads and large pores.
Finacea is another option to consider. If you type it in search, you can find that lots of people have been very pleased with this prescription drug.

really? I take 1g of msm daily but it doesn't help with breakout. Should I increase to 2g? |

I have been battling acne since my teens and am in my early 30's now.
I agree with the previous post about consistancy. I had to wait MONTHS for my rouitine to work, but my derm encouraged me. Also important is NOT TO PICK. That is the hardest for me. They always come back if you pick.
What has worked the best for me is some sort of Retinol at night. (I use Differin. Retin A is similar.) And by day something with 2% Salycilic Acid. It can be a toner, a gel, whatever. Just make sure it has 2% Salycilic. I have been using DDF 10% Glycolic gel, it has the 2% Salycilic also and is a good combo for both acne and aging.
A mild soap is good. I also like the DDF Sulphur mask. |

This is very common panck! What I find best for me and works very well is Paula's Choice 2% liquid BHA and the blemish fighting solution over that. You have to be consistent, thats the key. And when I clear up, all I use is the BHA every other day on the troubled spots that I'm apt to break out. I just love the PC product line for break outs. |

I made big changes to my total skin care routine recently because of breakouts, and in one month I have seen a huge difference. I have started using Zenbiotic products, I bought a Clarisonic (love it!) and started taking 100mg of chelated zinc, which I was taking back when I had totally clear skin but just never clicked that it may be releated to keeping my skin clear. I never bother to rebuy when it ran out, but recently came across a post mentioning zinc helping with acne (something to do with regulating hormones or something) so I started on it again. So if anything, I really think you should try the zinc because I think it is helping me. I was seeing results within a week of my change in routine. |

Another thing I discovered on acne.org was drinking multiple glasses of roisbois tea daily. Specifically "Get Gorgeous" tea by republic of tea. But if you can't find it, any roisbois tea should be helpful. |

Hello,
Do not overstrip your skin with harsh products for oily skin. Use only a gentle cleanser, tone with an alcohol-free product and use a sun-cream for day.
Try cleansing with cold-cream at night. Use once and remove with a muslim cloth/flannel.
Repeat and repeat again if necessary until cloth is clean. Leave a thin layer of the cream on your skin
Hope this helps,

Hi Paak, I had the same problem, but am older than you I also had large pores, old acne scars and oily skin. I have had dramatic results with the NaturDerm products (EDS has under natural and organic). Silicone paraben free and it is a pH correct anti aging line of great products. I love the Triple Lavender Face Foam, it lasts forever, and the Epidermx II made a big difference for me. The Chrysalyx which is a firming antioxidant moisturizer, loaded with all kind of stuff and botanicals and vitamins, smells incredible and surprisingly is the best eye cream I have used. I love that it is a simple streamlined easy approach to skin care that works, and no toners! |

First, try to avoid sunlight. Second, drink some vegetable or fruit juice such as strawberry juice, or watermelon juice everyday. Third, neroli hydrosol is good for lightening the acne. You may try some. |

The Epidermx II is what helped me too, and still does. The one product I can't live without! |

I also believe supplements such as B complex, zinc will help the skin clear. I try to take some vitamin pills these days, and I feel my skin much less oily in the morning. It worth a try! |

tretinoin works very well for me. It got worse for the first couple weeks and cleared pretty fast later. I am using obagi for the acne marks now, it worked very well. |
