I still have the Seamolient but ran out of SKB. Can I use seamolient where SKB is called for in DIY recipes? |

Well, tonight, I was in an experimenting mood. I took about 1/2 tsp of Seamolient and mixed 1/4 tsp of the Vit C crystal from TJs that I have, and mixed it. Nothing else!
I then proceeded to put the mix, not all, mind you, on my face. I think I put too much C in the mix. It started to sting! I washed my face, but found the Seamolient was pretty slippery. No redness after I washed my face though. Everything is cool. I'm thinking I can use seamolient, but I have to calm down on the C, and maybe add a bit of water. I just didn't have all the ingredients yet, and was hoping I could make a quick and dirty C serum. My next batch will hopefully be a bit more thoughtful. |

Isn't this DIY stuff so fun!
From what I know:
Sea Kelp Bioferment is fermented sea kelp, created using fermentation techniques like those used to produce foods such as yogurt and sauerkraut. As a base it is perfect for users with oily skin types as it moisturizes without supplying extra oil. It is also incredibly effective for normal and dry skin, as it is a powerful nutritive moisturizer. This active is the major building block for most of our 'Ready to Use' product line - from creams to serums to washes, it is the perfect active for almost any purpose.
Seamollient is Algae Extract. The algae extract is used for its water binding and antioxidants functionally.
