Hey Im wondering if anyone here can give me a bit of help. 4 or 5 months ago my eyes and nose became very itchy. The skin around my mouth and a couple of patches on my forehead became red, itchy and really rough. I went to the doctors and he said I had hayfever, which I accept explains the eyes and nose (I was prescribed anti hisamines and eye drops) but I dont think he took my skin into account. On and off my skin has been playing up, never really setteling down and now recently the skin surronding my eyes (brow bone) has started itching and looking really inflamed. Its turned really dry and the skin is peeling off! It looks and feels disgusting. Ive been to the doctor again and I was given Aqueous cream (liquid parafin)Its not really helping. And the doctor doesnt seem to want to bother finding out whats causing it! I would have thought that it was a reaction to something but im not using anything new. If any body has any ideas id be really greatfull. |

This will be impossible to treat on your own if you dont know for sure what it is and you could make it worse treating it yourself.
I would definitely see a dermatologist for this. Or if the dr you saw already was a derm find a new one.
Sorry thats not much help right now but it does sound like you need a derm to treat this. |

I totally agree with Girly if this Dr. isn't taking this issue seriously KICK HIM/HER TO THE CURB! A dermatologist is certainly in order, one who will take the time to get to the root of the problem!
HTH
GOOD LUCK

Oh, it's really frusting issue! Maybe avene thermal water and vaseline or cetaphil cream would be helpful. Anything with complicated ingredients should be stopped.
Maybe you are allergic to something, anying from skincare product, make-up, diet or environmental changing could be the reason. Still, it would be great if your doctor bothers and is able to discern the cause for you... |

I would suggest to see another dermatologist and also allergist. It is very important to see a specialist and make sure you don't have something even more serious than allergy. Have you taken Claritin? It may help if you have an allergic reaction, but please see a doctor.
If you need to moisturise your skin try jojoba oil, but better not to use anything. |

I agree with Laurel that you should see an allergist.
I had similar problems as you. Itchy, red, dry patches around the eyes and nose area due to allergies. I got allergy testing and started avoiding the major foods that I'm allergic to and it really helps prevent eczema flare ups. I also take an antihistamine when it gets really irritating(mainly for hives though).
I was prescribed Elidel (Protopic) and it really helped get rid of the itchiness and redness. After my skin calmed down, I apply a layer of Eucerin Original Cream to the affected areas for maintenance.
When the eczema was unbearable around my eye area and there wasn't much I could use there, I used green tea bags to pat around my eyes and they provided such great relief. That led me to order Topix Replenix Green Tea serum. I now apply it in the morning under my sunscreen everyday to help keep my skin calm. |

Agreed However a Dermatologist should be first on the list, this could be many different things. We can't diagnose what it is over the Internet. She really needs a decent Derm to diagnose exactly what is causing this. |
