I am going to order some Retin-A for the first time off of alldaychemist.com. I have never used Retin-A before. They have many choices listed on their website as far as Retin-A goes. I'm so confused and don't know which one to get.
I am 25 with combination skin, light acne scars on my chin area (no pitting, just pigmentation) and want to take all the preventative meausres against aging that I can.
What would be the best form of Retin-A to get out of these choices?
-Retin-A Micro
- Retin A
- Retin A (Cream)
- Retin A .05
- Retin A .01 (Gel)
- Retin A .25 mg
?????
Thanks in advance. I look forward to your replies. |

Start with .025 Retin A cream and within 3 months or so if your skin is tolerating the .025, then begin introducing .05 Retin A cream. (The gel is way too harsh to start on and .01 would really irritate your skin.) |

When you get it, ONLY USE IT TO START WITH, EVERY THIRD NIGHT, OR LESS, PEA SIZE FOR WHOLE FACE, do not use more, start very slow. |

I agree with both Mountaingirl and Spinney. I would start with the 0.025% and use maybe 3 times per week -- p.m. only. It's important to allow your skin to acclimate. If it does get red and/or irritated, you can apply a moisturizer on top of the RA after about an hour. I think some people have used Bio oil with success. |

It doesn't for Retin A and I just placed and received an order a few weeks ago. No problems at all. Even had a few questions and Dave, from customer service, emailed me back within a few days. Hope that helps!
Also, their Retin A is very inexpensive! Shipping cost around $25.00 (I'm in the US) so I just tried to order enough for the next several months. |

I agree with the above recommendations with starting with the 0.025% and only in the evening. Start with every couple of days. I had to mix the RA with my moisturizer at first. I couldn't even put the RA on my skin alone for a couple of weeks without terrible irritation. It still worked fine when I mixed it and I can now tolerate the .1% my itself. I have been using it for about 4 months now. Always wear a good broad spectrum sunscreen during the day as well. This is very important. |

Y34963,
You are so right about the sunscreen!! Using RA will sensitize your skin to the sun. You might even want to consider a good Vit C serum as part of your morning regimen. |

Yes, I am going to start using Vitamin C serum too. Do you suggest using this only in the morning and not at night too?
Thanks everyone for your replies. I will order the .25%. Has anyone used Retin-A micro? I googled it and it looks like it's prescribed to teens a lot for acne.] |

Use your Retin-A in the evening and the Vitamin C serum in the morning. I haven't tried the Retin-A micro yet but I am thinking of giving it a try. |

About how long does ADC orders take? I'm getting ready to order but will be gone for a week and want to avoid DH picking up my "strange" package. Also I read this in another thread but what was the niacinamide concensus? Mix it with the retin-A or with the moisturizer following? I through in some with my recent GoW order. |

Oranges,
My order from ADC also arrived in a couple of weeks, but it was shipped as two different parcels -- maybe because I ordered so much??? Anyway, the packages arrived about 3 days a part. Just thought you might want to know!! |
