sensitive skin. I use Retin-A Micro 0.4% and emu oil but still get irritation and dryness. I want to get rid of wrinkles & prevent future ones. Do I need to add Vit C or anything else? I also suffer from hormonal acne.
Thanks,
Jen |

Have you tried different formulatons of tretinoin? For example Renova? Renova is in a relatively emollient base and might cause you less irritation than retin A micro. It is more suitable if your main purpose in using it is for wrinkles rather than acne.
Are you applying the RAM to perfectly dry skin? You need to let your skin dry out for approximately half an hour before applying RAM as it is less irritating on dry skin compared to damp skin.
I have read that people find taking zinc supplements helpful for hormonal acne. You have to go specifically for chelated zinc or zinc picolinate as these are better absorbed compared to zinc oxide. |

AHA's also help with hormonal breakouts. I'd also recommend a product with matrixyl that will help with anti-aging. |

Sunscreen! Topical C has been show to increase collagen, so you might think about adding that in. |

I only used ram, I really should be using renova.
I used on dry skin, so little of it that I hardly saw it go on. I can't believe what it's done. This is very strong stuff! I'm dabbing a drop of cortisone cream for all the redness. |

There are a ton out there. You will have to search around. Skinceuticals makes really good C products, as well as Skinmedica. Obagi makes a C serum, Cellex-C, etc., etc. My favoriate is the Skinceuticals, but it will probably be trial and error for you. Have fun! |

Thank-you so much! Any help right now for me is
just so great. I also picked up Hyaluronic acid vitamins- there supposed to have the same benefits as collagen/juvederm. Woman also raving about how nice and plump their lips are after taking them. I'll give it a try. 2nd. day on vitamins.I've never been a vitamin person , but from what I've read on this forum this stuff supposed to be really really good. we'll see....hmmmm |

YIPES That is ABSURD!!! I've never used Renova but I think that is just ridiculous for a Retin A. I hope its quart sized! |

I'm guessing the $200 price tag is in the US, which has by far the highest drug prices in the world. We don't regulate drug prices, so manufacturers can set whatever they think the market will bear. My dad is on a cancer drug that costs nearly $40,000 a year, whereas in India the yearly cost would be several hundred dollars for the same compound. I keep telling him that he ought to take a bang-up vacation to India, fly first class, stay in the most luxurious hotels, eat in the best restaurants, buy his meds, and he'd still be thousands of dollars ahead in the game. |

Did someone use Tazorac under their eyes? How is it?
If I only knew then while I was sunbathing on the beach for hours on end , tanning salons , you name it. The price I am paying at 45- I didn't listen |

Don't beat yourself up too badly, Howdy. You're certainly not the only one who's paying the price for too much fun in the sun! I am right there with ya!
Flitcraft, some type of health care reform is definitely needed! Tell your dad to take care and the women (and men) of EDS are cheering for him! |
