Hi all!

I'm new to this site and I am happy that I found it. Everyone here seems to have such a wealth of information. Seriously, it's A LOT Of info to sort through. I hope I am posting in the right place and I hope someone will be able to help me and maybe explain what is going on.

I little about myself: I'm 30 years old and I've had a VERY stressful year and unfortunately, it has taken a toll on my face. Almost overnight, I have furrows forming in between my brows. I think all the crying that I have done, from the furrowing of my forehead, has left the skin in between my brows looser, creating a permanent frown. It's hard to explain. Not really lines, but sort of like loose skin so when I touch my forehead, I can feel the loose skin flipping and flopping away forming a sort of V shape. Sorry it my description makes no sense. I'm new at this.

It's so weird because I have seen furrow/frown LINES on people, but loose skin? Almost as if the muscle holding up the skin is bigger and the skin is droopier.

Is there any way of making this go away? Anything that will tighten forhead again without needing a forhead lift?

Thanks for any info. God bless!
Very Happy

Hi - Have you tried a microcurrent treatment? Microcurrent is a technology that affects the underlying muscle tissue. It simulates the body's natural electrical impulses and therefore retrains the tight muscles to relax and the relaxed muscles to tighten up. Not sure if your underlying problem is muscle related but a simple procedure can be done in about 30 minutes with a handheld microcurrent device can help you answer that question. Hope this helps. It will be interesting to see what the results are from this posting.

Thanks for your advise. I'm not too sure if I know much about microcurrent. Is this done at the dermatologist office or at a salon? Does it have any risks involved? Like I said, I'm not sure if it's just normal sagging due to age or if its the muscle.

Do you think retin A or vitamin C may help if I continue using.

Also, I had been using skinceuticals vitamin C serum for a while now, but just found out from other threads that a golden color is bad for vitamin C serum, but I didn't know. The liquid has been golden/brown since I have been buying it. Do you think this may have made my forehead sagging worse?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You also could try facial exercises..there are a lot of different 'philosophies' regarding these exercises..

I do Ageless if We Dare facial exercises (used to be called Ageless if You Dare)...loulou,the woman who developed this technique used to be a trainer for Flex Effect facial exercise system..which also incorporates forehead exercises (as does Carole Maggio's Facercize)..however Lou lou warns that in strenghtening the muscle of the forehead,(loss of muscle tone, in my understanding, is always associated with the 'natural' aging process involving sagging skin) new lines will be created for a time till it all 'works through'..so she recommends only doing forehead exercises once every 2 weeks...(unless there is a specific situation that warrants a different response!)

if i had this difficulty at your age i would def check out her website,www.agelessifwedare.com and or her forum. The forum site is louiseannette.proboards.com.

At the forum you have a choice to ask questions to be answered either by anyone on the forum..or only by Loulou herself.

I would also suggest facial exercise and dry skin brushing, and may be vaculifter.

So exercising my forehead would snap the skin and muscle back into place? Seems as if exercising muscles would make them bigger not smaller, but I guess I dont know how facial muscle and skin works. Could all the crying I did due to the repetitive motion of furrowing my brows have caused sagging of the forehead skin? Is it the muscle that is drooping or is it the skin?

I've read about DMAE, copper peptides tightening skin, alpha lipolic acid from Dr. Perricone tightening skin. Do you think that may help?

I'm just afraid of doing more damage to my skin with facial exercises.

I found Alphaderma helps relax tension on facewhich softens forhead furrows while at the same time it is firming.

I agree with the facial exercises. I've been doing them for the past 7-8 months and I've seen a difference.

Peggoty, I would second the recommendation on facial exercises. I do Flex Effect -- great exercises for the brow/forehead/scalp amongst other things. There's lots of threads regarding the various facial exercising programs on the DIY forum.

Good luck.

Peggoty,

You might want to check out the thread on Safetox. I too have had the most stressful and heartbreaking year of my life and feel that I wear a constant frown. I am definitely purchasing a Safetox as soon as the funds allow. It's also been said to help quite a bit with headaches. It's long, but a great read.

Ok, for some reason I can't figure out how to post the link. If you do a search on "Anyone Heard of Safetox" you will find the thread. I do HTH. Take care of yourself.

This is the thread on the Safetox

I have a Safetox and love it. I really had some issues with forehead wrinkles from a difficult childhood of worry. I used frownies with some success and then graduated to the Safetox device. It has done wonders for me.
