This cleanser has long been added and removed from the online shopping cart as I have finalised previous EDS orders. I am half-surprised that EDS did not block me from clicking "buy" on this product just to save on the server processing power that was required to continually add and remove this to my cart over the last year or two
I never did end up buying a full size of this but, as luck would have it, the EDS sample fairies were most generous recently and popped a 30mL tube of this with one of my orders. Thank you
This is a clear gel cleanser with a *very* faint citrusy smell. It also has tiny little orange spheres floating in the gel and I can feel them when I first rub my hands together to foam up the gel before washing my face. The spheres break almost immediately on contact and release what is inside (I gather that would be vitamin C).
I am nowhere near finishing the tube of this but I have used it enough times to know that I like it. The cleanser is not drying at all and leaves my face quite comfortable. I wouln't say moisturised - but defintiely not stripped of moisture either. I have used this around the eye area with no problems although I have not yet used it to remove eye makeup. Having said that, I have used it to remove JI pressed base and it did a good job at that.
While this is a very good cleanser, I doubt that you would get much of the vitamin C benefits from this - for that I would still recommend a "dedicated" vitamin C serum. Even if you assume that the vit C in this cleanser is stable and contained in the spheres, then you're still not leaving it on your skin long enough for it to do what it needs to do. Not to mention that the concentration of vit C in this would be pretty low as well. Nevertheless, I would get this in the future. Not for its vitamin C content but for the fact that it is a very good non-drying gel cleanser. |

Hi Mabsy,
I have been eyeballing ALL of MURAD products, I noticed the essential C day cream are all gone now (SOLD OUT), that got me thinking maybe ALL of Murad's C stuffs are all good. what other Murad products have you tried and liked. For this C cleanser, how do you compare it with Yonka's nettoyant gel ?
sounds like I will have to go back to Sephora soon.
I understand your doubt of the VitC in cleanser being absorbed into the skin. I alway leave my treatment cleanser on as a mask for an additional time, for it to be absorb. I do it with Yonka gel, and Dermalogica microexfoliant. Maybe that may help.
Please let me know how do you like the other murad products, and how do you compare it with Yonka cleansing gel. Thanks !

I haven't yet used the Murad cleanser to remove eye makeup so I'm not sure how that aspect of it compares. I think the two cleansers are similar but if it came down to buying just one then I'd go with the YonKa one. It's much for enjoyable to use
In terms of Murad there have been quite a few things that I liked. I really like their Oil Free sunblock (the tinted one) although I know that a few people here can't handle the smell of it (which I haven't found offending myself). I did use their Pomegranate Treatment which was really fun to use (it's the one that looks like candy cane ). I liked the texture of it and it did make my skin look fresher but as with a lot of the preventative antioxidant serums it's hard to see actual results when you use it so I can't comment on effectiveness. Here's the original review though http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=787
Of course, Murad Essential-C eye cream with SPF15 is my favorite SPF eye cream for daytime use I do have a tube of the Essential-C Day Cream but to be honest I cannot actually remember what I thought of it I will have to revisit that one.... |
