I've noticed silicone as a base in some moisturizing prodcuts. Is this good? Is this bad? Does it soak in or clog pores? I have no info on this and am hoping someone can enlighten me. thanks |

silicone is harmless. It is mostly performed as surfactant because it has a polar and nonpolar end, in plain english, it can bond with water-based and oil-based molecules. |

I thought silicone is used in products that tend to smooth your face. All I know if that some products high in silicone do break me out in tiny little bumps |

I totally agree with Mabsy. I've tried different products with Silicone(Smashbox Primer, Mattifying products and Decleor Regulating Gel) all had silicone and broke me out in bumps/clogged pores. But it was a godsend for my mother who has super dry skin. I would see if you can get a sample of what you are wanting to try first. I think it really depends on the person. hths |

Definitely agree that it's different for different people. For me it's not the mere presence of silicone but I think rather the quantity of it. I can use products with silicone but not the "hard core" ones |
