I went for a lactic/glycolic peel a couple of weeks ago and the aesthetician used a device with ozone to "zap" a couple of stubborn small cyst-like pimples on my chin. Before that, I had a cortisone shot for *another* cystic pimple on my chin, and believe it or not, this ozone product worked just as well as the cortisone.

So I was wondering - I didn't ask the girl what exactly it was, but is there anything comparable on the market that might do the trick for me? Baby Quasar Blue and Tanda both are/were abysmal failures when it comes to my acne, but this is one product that actually did the job, even though it's obviously a professional item.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yep, my aesthetician uses that too, to zap any pimples, and also as a preventative all over my face right after extractions.

Believe it or not, it's the salon version of the DermaWand. If you can get the salon version, great! It's more powerful, but if you can't the DermaWand also works though I find you have to hold it over the cystic acne for at least 4-5 mins, and then circle the spot for another few minutes.

There is something on ebay at the moment called

Quote:
NEW Acne Facial Pore Treatment Plasma Ozone Face Wand

The seller is "balkowitsch".

Is that the kind of thing the salon used?

I didn't actually see what she was using, but I felt the zap and smell of ozone and that got me intrigued. I don't know which to purchase! There doesn't seem to be any reviews on the item on ebay, and the return policy is useless for me since I couldn't try it and return it if it didn't work.

Then again, the DermaWand isn't getting great reviews, but my reason for using it isn't for anti-aging.

All of these gadgets have my mind boggled.

OK, here's what I decided. I just ordered the Dermawand from HSN, which has an excellent return policy. Since I *always* have a friendly blemish residing on my face somewhere, I'll be able to determine fairly soon if the Dermawand will do the job.

If not, then I'll return it and take my chances on the more expensive ebay item or maybe some of the other pricier options on the Dermawand thread.

Wish me luck!

good luck! lol. I never used the DermaWand for anti-aging BTW. I always only used it for any breakouts I had, and it works for me.

I'm all for oxygenating pimples! I use more creams and serums as opposed to gadgets but I find that the lifespan of the pimples are greatly reduced. They say it's because oxygen helps to increase cellular turnover therefore fights the pimples quicker and helps reduce scaring. Love it!

I own a high frequency device, these are particularly helpful in decreasing pimples. This is done through the creation of ozone, and the device has a some what drying affect on the skin. Try using it combination with Benzoyl Peroxide.
