I have been using GiGi microwave wax about every two weeks followed by Ultra hair away by Bermed. I only have fine hairs but they seem to grow back quickly (two weeks) when others have told me that this treatment should last about 6 weeks.
Anyone have experience with similar products?
Thanks |

Hey Sharky, is this the stuff that comes in a spray bottle. I believe it is the stuff that I bought awhile back. I was using Nad's then followed with that hair away product? Did it work...NO. I get suckered in to all the ad hype. I'm so glad that I found you guys!! I won't purchase anything w/o checking here first |

I'm going to try the Sally Hansen hair removal cream for face as SugarFreeSheila mentioned in a thread a while back. It generally has good reviews on MUA so I figured I'd give it a shot. I usually stay away from creams since they've never actually gotten the entire hair out, but this one supposedly does. I'll report back tomorrow! |

i personally think the 6 weeks thing is "up to 6 weeks". I find that I get regrowth in about 2 weeks as well. It's just me.
I think also, that sometimes the hair isn't ripped out from the root and get's broken off so it's no better than shaving if it's not done properly.
I used Nads too but found that it didn't work at all for me and I wasted my money. Also the stuff goes to liquid when it comes in contact with steam so you have to keep it away from the bathroom which is the very place you want to use it.
Too tricky for me!
I am waiting for "them" to invent a laser that works on blonde hair. Then I will spend my money getting rid of this hair for good!!!
When is being hairy going to come into fashion!!

Me too! Although I'm afraid I'll be old and not care anymore before the do. I'm also still waiting for someone to invent a tanning pill. |

Hi All
I use GiGi products. I use the honey wax that you put in the warmer. I use muslin strips, I bought the warmer, around $19.99 and the jar of honey wax (or you can do sugar wax) lasts me around 6-8 months. Since I only heat it when I need it, I think the constant re-heat breaks down the wax after a while. Of course I only wax my bikini area, but the wax job lasts me 4-5 weeks, with maybe only a stray hair here or there that I just pluck. It was the best investment I ever made. I find that shaving my bikini area causes ingrown hairs and it I can not get a close enough shave since I have dark hair. |

berquis: Thanks can I also use this on my face or will it cause irritation? I use the blue microwave wax I tried other brands but the wax didn't get really hard and I think the roots were not removed.
Also when I use the wax I get indents from my pores. I wonder whether it is bad or good to treat the pores with hot wax.
The spray says it has fruit enzymes and slows hair regrowth but I haven't noticed much difference with it.
I am trying the Sally Hansen cream. The first time I used it I did not like the smeel much and probably did not leave it on long enough. |

Hi
I do use this on my face. I wax my eyebrows (chin, yes chin!) and my lip, with no problems. I will tell you though, I wax before I shower. I wax right over my make up, so no clogged pores. |

Well, I had about 5 hours of dental work done yesterday afternoon and so my upper lip was a bit red from where they were rubbing on it. I decided I better wait at least another day to try the SH cream.
So Sharky, did you not have any hair removal from the first time you used it? I'm surprised since the reviews are pretty good on it. |

TAMgirl, I can't wait for a tanning pill either. I loved the way I looked with a tan.
As far as the hair removel thing, the only thing I use is crap from walmart. I think its nair or something or neet, one or the other. Whatever it was, it took the tiny mole right on the corner of my mouth completely off. I had a huge scab, looked like I had inbetigo(okay, laugh, because I know thats not how you spell it, but am I a doctor? )
That thing didn't go away for weeks and it was soo embarrassing. The little dark freckle moley thingy grew back but it isn't as dark and its a tiny bit smaller.(it wasn't much bigger than a big freckle to begin with)
I would like to try a microwave wax, but the last time I did on my bikini area the stuff hardened too quick and I was in some severe pain if you know what I mean. So, that didn't work out very well. I'm afraid to give it another go, but I am sick of shaving there every darn day, my hair grows quicker than anything. |

Hey I stopped waxing my facial hair. Its a lot painful
Nowadays I am using "MySpring it" facial hair remover to remove unwanted hair. Its just a spring which removes the facial hair from its roots without damaging your skin. If you want me to rate the pain level between 1-10 (where 10 is the labor pain) I will give it 1.5.
Actually, I should appreciate my friend for giving me this sometime before. |

I was just watching a DIY threading video on youtube. You can do this over your entire face and you don't need to be able to SEE the little hairs...
Here's a how to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F37Sl1c7BA0
I tried this with my crappy thread in an emergency kit. Didn't work so great. I think a thread that is kind of glossy and will therefore slide easily might work better???? |

I checked this out - it seems to get the thumbs-up from everyone. You can check it out here:

I actually use my epilator which has a facial attachment, and that works pretty well. |

I also use an epilator and it works fast and great - once you get beyond the pain (it is tolerable though)
The theory is that the hairs will grow back fewer and more sparse with time, but I have not found that to be true.

I have definitely found it to be true for legs and bikini area. |

Gee, mine hair will grow back in a week. I can't use wax because I tried it and it made me bleed. I suspect this is because I use Retin-A. I am afraid of ingrown hairs with an epilator, so use Sally Hansen. It does burn my face a bit though. |

I just run a razor over any areas of my face I want to be free of hair. It's fast and there is no irritation what-so-ever.
I've been using the Tria Laser on my darker hormonal facial hairs on my upper lip and chin areas and that has removed all of those more dark coarse hairs. Now I just shave the fine blonde peach fuzz on the sides of my face. My makeup looks so much better without all those fine blonde hairs showing. |

Not sure if this will work, I'm trying to post a link. I read about drinking speerment tea helping to reduce facial hair growth a while back on QVC.

Yea, it worked!
I haven't tried this myself, and am not sure if it would work on those with just a little extra fuzz. |

kelil3: have you seen any side effects after using Tria. Like I had laser done few yrs back on my upper lip and chip the hair never went away 100% but got thin. However, now I have hair in the middle of cheeks like wiskers!! Also know many ppl who have had laser done have had hair growth development somewhere else.
Please let me know. Thanks!! |

My hair is blonde so I just shave it once a week. I tried waxing once and got lots of little ingrown hairs. |
