Ok, so my mom got this not so cool looking soap "Rico Black Soap - Cocoa Butter Vitamin E", which I think has been recommended by a friend of hers..
I did a research online, but couldn't find much info on this Rico company. The only info I found that "some" of their products were banned for containing harmful ingredients or too much Hydroquinone or Mercury.. I believe their products are mainly for whitening and stuff.
However, I couldn't find what may be harmful in this soap.... here are the ingredients:
"Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Cocoate, Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Theobroma Cocao (Cocoa Butter), Parfum (Fragrance), Triclocarbon, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium HEDTA, CI 77499, CI 42090, CI 15985, BHT."
That's it. I can't seem to find hydroquinone or mercury, but some of the compounds I'm not familiar with, that's why I need advice.
There is also another product from this company which my mom brought with her too... it is the "Black Cream" ... basically looks the same as the soap but only cream. However, I can't for the love of me find where their ingredients are listed... They aren't listed anywhere in the product! |

I don't have any knowledge of the ingredients, but if I couldn't find the ingredient list on the package and I had any doubts I wouldn't use it. |

But are the soap ingredients listed above safe?!
I've read a few bad things about this company, Rico... that they also use mercury in their products and stuff.
It would be really helpful if someone who knows the company, or is familiar with it, to help us out here.
Thanks! |
