Normally I have oily skin, but since I've started tretinoin gel and OCM (plus it's winter) I don't anymore. It's normal (in that if I run my fingers on my forehead, there isn't a slick of shine on them), borderline dry, and I still can't battle the blackheads. So, all in all....combination. I thought I was done with the initial breakout, but as of yesterday I have one cyst on my jawline (I never get cysts!) and 2 on my cheek and 1 on my forehead
I want to try the Hemp Seed Oil for my blackheads, and plan to do so soon. But that's not really a moisturizer to put on under makeup in the daytime. I'm really confused how to tweak my routine. I can't do the HSO at night when I apply tretinoin.
Ugh...Ideas anyone?
(I prefer more natural methods, but will buy something HE if it truly does a good job. I hate Cetaphil and anything like it) |

Hi, Sandra. You could actually use hemp seed oil during the daytime under makeup. I use oils all the time under makeup. The trick is to spritz your face thoroughly with a toner, hydrosol, or spring water before applying 2 to 3 drops of oil. This helps the oil absorb well.

I understand that there are some good all natural alternatives for getting rid of blackheads or acne while at the same time moisturizing and calming the skin. I have read that Resveratrol is a very good ingredient to look for. Hope that helps. I was just a "viewing" but read your plea |

Seconding this. Also wanted to add, make sure you wait long enough for the oil to absorb before putting on your makeup. ~20min.
Are you using a sunscreen? Some of them are a bit moisturizing, so you may not even need an additional moisturizer if your skin doesn't feel dry. |

Why did you stop OCM?
I find that when you start and stop OCM you can have some breakouts.
In terms of moisturizer, I have combination, and I use Dr. Hauschka Rose Light day cream.
It actually helps to regulate my skin, and I don't have such an oily forehead anymore... |

Thanks for answering. I will go with Hemp Seed Oil. I heard Reservatrol was a bunch of hype, not sure though.
I didn't stop OCM. When I said "I don't anymore" I was relating to having had oily skin before, as I said earlier in the sentence. Sorry, could sound confusing. Before, I only needed light moisture, but now my skin has changed so I'm confused.
I think I will have to try the hemp/castor OCM and research better about reservatrol.
Thanks for the help! |

For daytime moisture I like mixing HA with a carrier oil. Kukui is my favorite but there are lots of good oils to choose from. It can take some time determine which oil works best for you. |
