Hello,
Does anyone else suffer from or can cast a light on the rosacea flare that seems to come up in the evening around 6 -> 8 P.M.?
I used to think I'd get this flush after the rush of the day was over, as if all my blood channels were relaxing upon being home. Or maybe that it was due to the transition between being out in the moving air and then coming into the stillness inside. But I'm not always rushing home at that time, nor am I always coming from movement to stillness.
There must be a body clock explanation, since it's so regular in my case.
I'd really like to crack this, find the root cause and cool it down!
Thanks very much.

Oh Pluto, I wish I could help you. The only thing I "know" that causes me to flush is getting hot. Anytime I am hot, I flush. Summertime, working out, even taking a shower. Although I am amazed with this mineral makeup because when I'm wearing it, no one knows I'm flushing. Anyway, back to you. What about what you are eating or drinking at night. Do you have a glass of wine each night or anything that you have consistently? Do you wash your face during these hours? What about an allergic reaction to maybe a pet or something in your home? There are certain chemicals & pollens I find make my skin itch & burn therefore causing a flush. Maybe keep a journal for a few weeks of everything you do, eat, etc. and how often you flush. I know how aggravating this can be. If only my skin looked as good naturally as it does with makeup, I think I'd sing naked. |

Good points Songbird!
I find when I am exhausted after a long day of work I blush quite a bit. Also caffeine does this to me. I have a sensitive system nervous system and I suppose I cannot take too much stimulation. Stay away from spicy foods, caffeine, get your rest and practice relaxation and gentle skin care. I need to practice what I preach but I think these things do generally help. I wish you luck, please update us as you try different things.
I noticed an odd flush on my own face today when my friend took a camera phone picture of us. I suppose I have been using too harsh a cleanser and not enough tlc. Us sensitive skinned girls have a lot to consider but I do believe rosacea can be alleviated quite a bit. |

Hi Songbird and Callalilly,
Thank you for your replies. My days of a glass of wine when I get home are long behind me.
Sounds like maybe it *is* exhaustion, which is what I always associated it with.
There are some nights when I don't get the flush, and I wonder what I did differently -- but nothing. For all I know it could be whether it's going to rain or not. Many people get arthritic pains before rain and they say that sort of inflammation is related to the rosacea one.
I surely will update as soon as I find something that's for sure a reliable anodyne.
In the meantime, Songbird, what's the mineral mu you're using? I using up La Prairie anti-aging foundation. I use it only in the rosacea areas, so I think I have the bottle for life!
Thank you!

Hi Guy,
I just wrote a message and tried to post it and had an EDS link inside. I got a message back saying as a new member i can't post *external* links. But this was an EDS link!!
Anyway, I just read the Hemp Oil thread in this website and it was very interesting. I am going to go buy some Hemp Oil this morning and see if I get the velvety skin mentioned and whether (it just might!) helps rosacea.
If you want to find the thread put "hemp" into the search engine and it'll be right there.
Sounds good. I love the idea of using natural food-grade stuff for beauty. Doesn't cost much to find out if it works for you.
