Well it really pays to listen to advice from our forum members-- I purchased the Murad Essential-C Eye Cream with SPF15 based on Mabsy's recommendation and it's now my favourite eye cream for day.
The eye cream comes in a clear 15ml pump bottle, so the product is kept preserved-- there's no risk of contammination with every use, and no chance of it drying out unlike those that come in a pot. The other good thing is that you'll be able to see how much of the product you have left (or don't have left!) so you'll never have to run out. 
It is a white cream that is quite thick in consistency, so I was pleasantly surprised how easily it absorbed when you pat it into the eye area. One pump is enough for both eyes and here's the big surprise-- It goes on well under AND over make up-- I was rushed to get ready for a dinner on the Pier in the late afternoon and had forgotten to apply the eye cream after my moisturiser but no problems, I popped this on over the top of my foundation and WOAH-and-BEHOLD!! No whiteness or streaky residue, it just sunk in beautifully, flawless!
The scent of the eye cream is neutral-- I couldn't detect a specific fragrance. Hence it would be perfect for those people with sensitive skin.
Murad Essential C eyecream with SPF 15 provides the protection I need for use in the day-- I wear sunscreen religiously, so I don't see why my eyes should go unprotected.
This great product scores ticks in every box for what an eye cream should do for me: Hydrates perfectly without the grease, Protects the most delicate eye area with SPF 15, Vit-C for brightening and keeps the dark circles away; Is great under and over make-up (big surprise and bonus for me) and fits snugly into every girls' make-up kit. I have to add that I tried a number of eye creams that I loved but as they didn't have SPF I've had to keep them for night-time use. The Murad Esential-C eye cream is perfect.

I'm really glad you like this Summertimegirl. This eyecream is still on my list even though I have Cellcosmet. The Cellcosmet is wonderful but does not have SPF so I will eventually switch to using it at night only and plan to get the Murad one for day use. It's really hard to find an eye cream with an SPF let alone one that doesn't leave a white cast (the Chanel one was pretty useless in that respect).
I have to say that I have tried a LOT of eyecreams and the Cellcosmet and Murad Essential-C are way above all others (for me anyway ).

I can also count three good eye creams that I've used which now have been relegated to the Night shift (haha) only as they don't have SPF:
Phytomer Contour Lift Eye cream
Cellcosmet Cellular Eye Contour
Valmont Cellular Eye & Mouth cream
They're the best night-time treatment for my eyes as they are that good.
I'm so grateful that you recommended me the Murad Essential-C eye cream, I was having to apply my sunblock for the face gently around my eyes-- that's how careful I was with protecting my eyes. And yes, there is no white cast, just a sheer invisible, moisturising film.
The ingredients are: Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 3.0%, Oxybenzone 2.0%.
One very happy Customer!

This really sounds like something to try!
I'm really looking into eye-creams with spf at the moment, coming down to you in february that is, and this sounds very intriguing.
I just bought a small version of the eye-cream from dermalogica with spf 15, but havn't used it more than a couple of times.
Have any of you tried this before?
It's also supposed to make the small, blue veins on the upper eyelids less visible (at least I have them, maybe for not wearing sunscreen around my eyes????).
Really would love to hear if any of you can compare those two. |

Hi Ramsi,
Do you mean the Dermalogica Total Eye Care SPF 15?? Thats's actually another good eye cream-- it's a tinted, salmon pink coloured cream with optical light diffusers. It was 'average' in terms of hydration though-- I have normal/ dry skin.
The Murad Essential-C eye cream is thicker in texture, but absorbs in just as well if not better. When I apply eye cream, I wing it right out so those crows feet have no chance...:P... with the Murad it's an invisible film where as the Dermalogica leaves a slight milky pink finish (won't matter as much if you apply foundation over the top). Both worked well in terms of comfort-- I wear contact lenses and there was no irritation. And if I'm not wrong, the pink would be good to diminish those small blue veins in your upper lids.
It's great that you're heading out our way soon-- how exciting! Where abouts in Australia will you be relocating? I'm in Sydney, NSW and Mabsy is Brisbane, QLD. You're on the right track with using products with SPF!! Our Aussie climate is quite harsh and drying so be armed with your SPF....and just in case you were wondering, ordering from EDS with $AUD is great as our dollar is quite strong at the moment!

I'm going to get this Murad Eye Cream too as soon as I see the first signs of Spring because it was recommended by Mabsy and approved by you.
I have super sensitive eyes and super reactive skin around the eyes. The thought of putting sunscreen around my eyes was scarry enough to give me hives. But recently I noticed some faint brown dots on my upper eyelids and under my eyes, I know I must do something. Because you think Murad Essential-C Eye Cream SPF 15 is perfect, I have no doubt to put it on my " gotto have it list" right away.
Thanks Summertimegirl and Mabsy and Ramsi. My horoscope today said: " You will be well protected by friends today!". Reading it in the morning I was puzzled but now I understand. It's so right, so right! Thumb up to Yahoo Daily Horoscope! |

Thanks for mentioning the Dermalogica one Ramsi. I haven't used it before and I didn't even realise that they made an eye cream with an SPF. I'll make sure I try that one.
Btw, the visible blue veins are not caused by not wearing sunblock. To the best of my knowledge, these are simply visible because the skin around the eye is thinner and thus more transparent. In some people the veins are a little bit closer to the surface of the skin so they show through. I have the same problem, unfortunately I think the best you can do (without resorting to sclerotherapy or laser treatment) is just to cover them up if they bother you

| I've tried the Dermalogica total eye care with SPF 15. I personally did not like it. It was so drying and fine lines I didn't even know I had were emphasized and exagerrated. And the color didn't blend in, I could see it in the daylight. The reviews on this forum are mixed. Some people really like it and others like myself don't. |

Well I've never purposely tried to get it directly in my eyes but I kinda slather it on and have not had any problems. Mind you, different people have different levels of sensitivity.

Hi Cigictj,
I wear contact lenses every day and the Murad Essential-C Eye Cream SPF15 hasn't caused any problems, even with the Vit C in it I didn't feel any sensations or get dryness from it. I guess it's a 'silent' Vit-C product, works fine by me! The best thing I like about this eye cream is that it doesn't cause the 'deep fog' that some eye creams can do when they get into your eye-- when this happens you can see a rainbow coloured oil film that travels across your lens and can be very annoying! and yes it's gentle.... no stingy, no burning.
All eye creams have to be opththamologically tested to ensure that they can be used even for the most sensitive of eyes. As Mabsy pointed out, people have differing levels of sensitivity so it's always good to ask for a sample of the product to try first.

I have been wanting to try an eye cream with SPF and I think you guys have convinced me to get Murad!
Has anyone tried Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado? I've been using this at night for the past month or so. It's pretty thick so it doesn't migrate into your eyes... I was wondering what people think of this product. I'm not a huge fan, but it's okay. |

Nygirl - THANK YOU! I've been wanting to try the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment after reading about it in a mag. I have plenty of eye creams at home (including what I consider to be the best - the Cellcosmet one). Still, that doesn't seem to kill off any lemmings when I start reading the beauty pages of Vogue and Allure... perhaps getting rid of those subscriptions would be a good start LOL
After hearing you say that (or, rather, after reading what you wrote ) I don't really want to try it that much anymore! Kiehl's is not available here so it would have cost me a fair bit to get it shipped here. I owe you one! But I do need to know... is the cream actually green like avocados?

Yes, the cream is pale green, like an avocado. it feels very rich on my skin, but like i said, i don't feel like it's really doing all that much for me. I will probably get the Murad one for day and then use the Kiehl's at night until i'm finished with it (it might take a while, a little goes a looooong way with this one!!) After that, I think I will try the Cellcosmet since it's your favourite and you definitely sound like an expert in the field! Thanks for your input! I get confused since there are so many products available these days.

hi...ok I've been using the murad for about a week now in conjunction with skinceuticles c 20, B5 gel and strivectin...not what the aesthetician recommended, but i had to ....long story. Any how I am really enjoying using the cream...It absorbs well, there is no watering (a usual problem for me), and even tho crap at home etc is leaving me stressed and suffering from insomnia, it doesn't show that much:D
So thanks for asking Mabsey....but it's going well and I'll soon be posting on my 'home' forum at handbag about it....I have already recommended this forum to fellow handbaggers, so hopefully there'll be a bit more pan atlantic communication:cool:

I just turned 20 and have dark circles, no lines and rarely any puffiness though, and after trying the Re Nutriv line from Estee Lauder, my eyes start watering alot after i apply it..lol. Is the Murad Moisture Silk Eye Gel cream different from the Murad Vitamin C eye cream one Mabsy and summertimegirl suggested? Which one is better? |

| I've only used the essential c stuff and I would guess that it's good for any age given the sunblock and vit c that it contains. I't seems to last a long time as well......I'm way less than halfway through it at the moment and I must have had it for a couple of months now, using religiously 2-3 times a day. I have to say that this is the first time I have ever stuck with an eye creme. It is truely fab |

Help! I use the Dermalogica SPF 15 eye cream for day and it is great. However, lately I have been experiencing extremely dry skin around my eyes (eyelid crease, corners of eye, and under eye). At night I use Phytomer lift contour cream, but it isn't helping to moisturize. Does anyone have a super-duper moisturizing eye cream that won't aggravate my cracked dry eye skin? The ones I've tried with wrinkle control hurt and if my skin is cracked, the Dermalogica is hurting. Right now I am using vaseline around my eye!

I have to chime in and share my  for Murad Essential C eyecream. I've been using this for nearly a year and would never be without it! It's extremely long lasting and despite the thick consistency, sinks right in and penetrates without feeling greasy or causing my eye makeup to slide off.
I have very fine lines at the corner of my eye and while this hasn't removed them, they haven't gotten any worse and I do believe the entire eye area has lifted just a bit since I started using this. It's very subtle, however so maybe I'm just imagining this so I can justify the $$ ! 
Since a cancerous growth was removed from my upper eyelid I've been VERY aware of protecting my skin from the sun and can only wonder why so few eyecreams have any kind of sun protection? |

When I really want to sooth, replenish, and moisturize my eye area. I use an emu oil based eye cream by LB Processors, I think it's like $10.00. I love it, I always keep it in stock...its the best! |
