CP's are exactly what I just ordered with my EDS gift certificate. I ordered the Skin Signals Cream, LacSal and TTT. I am starting out by using the LacSal nightly, the Skin Signals every other AM and TTT every AM. CP's scare the dickens out of me and are definitely confusing as you don't want to use the wrong thing along side them or just plain use them wrong. I used the CP serum a few years back, but ended up chickening out because I didn't want to get the dreaded uglies. I am going to stick with it this time and hopefully just going straight to the Skin Signals Cream will be beneficial in some way for my skin. I don't have any major remodeling to do, just need firming and lifting.
BTW, my TTT smells a bit "fishy"...I am hoping this is normal and assume it's from the algae in it? |

Hey, just saw this in your post. The "fishy" smell is from DMAE. Completely normal |

Do you have any concerns about using the DMAE every day? I have the TTT but I cannot bring myself to use it daily. Too many conflicting theories on it! |

I honestly don't have any concerns with the DMAE daily. I was using a DMAE for a long time. I know when it comes to skin care we have to choose our battles and everything has it's fair share of critics and believers...I guess it all boils down to I am willing to take my chances with DMAE
Question: is the Protect and Restore Day Cover a SPF made specifically for those that use CP's? Is it a CP all within itself and not meant to be used in conjunction with, for instance, the Skin Signals Cream or can you use it with another CP. I don't want to OD on CP's, but I would like to find a sunscreen that is safe to use with CP's. |

Another question, sorry! What exactly is Nanci's CP Accelerator and how is it used? From what it sounds like, it would be something to use in conjunction with CP's? If so, how and when is it applied? |

HI Bren,
The CP accelerator just contains ingredients that complement CPs. I believe she is going to rename this product because it is confusing.
I tried it - unless your skin is super dry, try the version for oily skin. The original version was way to heavy for me. |

Thanks! So what you're saying is it's to be used over the CP's? |

It can be used over the CPs.
My advice... wait a few weeks before your incorporate the CP Acel. into your routine. See how you do with CPs alone for a while... then slowly add it in. |

This might help you decide the answer to that question:
Strength of CPs numbered
This is a number system from 1 to 10 that gives the relative amounts of copper peptides in products.
From Lowest Copper to Highest Copper as of May 14, 2011
Relative CP Strength
1. CP Night Eyes Premier
1. GHK Cream and GHK Serum
2. CP Night Eyes
2.5 Day Cover
3. Body Lotion
3. CP Serum
3. Suntan Lotion
3. Breast Cream
4. PR2 and PR3
5. Foot Cream
5.5 BioHeal
7. Skin Signals Lotion and Skin Signals Cream
8. Super CP Serum
11. Trireduction
14. Super Cop
28. Super Cop 2x

All of our copper peptides have a relative strength rating from 1 to 28. One indicates the weakest, and twenty-eight is the strongest. It should be noted that a 2 is twice as strong as a one, a 3 is thrice as strong as a one, and so on.
However, it should be noted that our product rated as '1' is stronger than our competitors' strongest products. So please don't assume that our strongest product automatically is the one that you need. Everyone's skin is different. For certain areas, clients may find that they actually may only need something rated a 1 or 2. |

I find the CP Accelerator to be a very nice moisturizer. The regular version was very heavy and too much for my oily skin, but I also couldn't use the newer version for oily skin as they both caused some breakouts on me.
I really don't need a moisturizer and don't include one in my routine. But, if I do have some flakiness, I top my CPs with the Lactic Power 10 - that seems somewhat moisturizing itself. Plus, it seems to 'push' the CPs in better. OR - another thing I use to get 'extra' moisturizing is to use a cream like the Skin Signal Cream. The creams really don't need a moisturizer with them. |

Yes, I agree with foxe- with the Skin Signals Cream you do not need an extra moisturizer. |

I actually don't feel that the Skin Signals is moisturizing enough for me. My skin used to be uber dry, but nowadays it has stabilized to a more normal/dry state. Since using NCN's DNA serum, it has become more moisturized and I do get kind of an oily looking sheen to my face, but on days I don't use it and merely use the Skin Signals, my skin still feels like it needs more moisture. My daily go to moisturizer has been Born Again MSM cream with a few drops of Emu and I have used the MSM cream over top the CP after about 20 minutes...I have yet to use the Emu mixed with the MSM over it. |

Wow Bren - I kinda wished I had a little bit of drier skin myself. If that is your situation, go right ahead and apply something like the CP Accelerator over your CPs. I'd suggest waiting a bit for the actives to get absorbed before topping them off with something else, though. |

I have oily skin too but have been fine with Nanci's CP accelerater in the oily skin version -I use it over whatever else I'm using as a 'last step' - over CP's or over NCN DNA.
I have used Day Cover with other Copper peptides and no troubles. I used the Second gens for the longest time but am crazy about the GHK versions these days. |

I think eventually I will give the CP Accelerator a whirl. But I will give it some time with the Skin Signals first and just apply my MSM cream over top for the time being. So far so good though with using the SS e/o day. I think what I'm going to do is alternate my LacSal e/o night with my retin-a using the LacSal the nights before I use the SSC. I don't want to give up my retin-a completely.
Yeah Foxe, I've always been a moisture hound My skin is nowhere near being oily and growing up never had a problem with acne a day in my life. I could probably count on less than one hand how many pimples I had growing up and they weren't that major. My sisters, on the other hand, had acne issues growing up off and on...not severe or anything, but enough to notice. When I first joined here, my skin was in horrible condition with dryness....since being here I have been able to stabalize my skin to a more normal state. In my opinion, the thing that had a big hand in that was using Remergent Barrier Repair. I loved that stuff!! |

Oh...and thanks for that chart Foxe. It gets confusing as to the strength of CP's and when it's all out there in black and white, easy to understand. I didn't realize the Skin Signals was a fairly strong CP. I knew it was rated a 7 on the SB site, but seeing it in chart form along with the others it is a fairly strong one...glad I am using it every other and not daily out of the gate. |

Thanks again Erg - and for your well wishes Bren! You too!
I got my super ghk, but omg that pump spits out a ton! I think I'm going to remove it, since I don't really want to cover my whole face twice over!
No kidding its confusing... where exactly on that chart is the "Skin Biology Super GHK-Copper Intensive Serum" that I got?
I used it Friday night, and this morning. I'm thinking of alternating every other or 3rd night with my tretinoin & vit c... just on my 11's, & chin & cheeks where I have a few pores & specs, & maybe nasolabial folds. Exciting!
Is it necessary to apply anything over it to drive it in? With my oily skin, I usually don't, except for Devita for daytime. So maybe I should use it in the day? |

LoriA, the Super GHK that you got is a 1, so it is the lowest amount of copper peptide. Dr. Pickart recommends not using zinc and CP's together, so if you continue to use your Devita, you should probably use the GHK at night. |

It's second on the list (a #1 in strength) a few posts above.

Not necessary, but it can help to apply something like emu or squalane oil. I don't usually apply anything myself unless I have an extra dry patch.
I wouldn't use CPs with a zinc based product like your Devita, though. Dr Pickart has said the zinc binds to the CPs and *may* interfere with it. No sense buying a skincare product only to use it with something that might render it ineffective. Use your vit C in the morning instead. Then alternate the Retin A w/ the CPs or use the CPs first and then apply the retin A after the CPs absorb. |

Wow, really glad I mentioned it!
I was trying to use my vit c at night for improved collagen boosting but will at least try alternating night & morning so I can get my cp's in. For some reason I hesitate when layering treatments but I trust your advice, Foxe, so I'll see about doing so with the tretinoin & cp's. Thank you both!
Look at me, I feel like I'm growing into a real lady with all these fancy serums |
