Last year, I posted in the Best Hair Conditioner thread recommending the LiQWD Hydrating Conditioner. I'm still using it and loving it, and thought I'd create a separate thread for it because today I had a great customer service experience with LiQWD and wanted to give the company props for their handling of the issue and for the product! The conditioner literally transforms my hair.

If you're looking for an incredibly moisturizing conditioner that can make dry, damaged hair feel sleek and soft, check it out: http://liqwd.com

Firefox, here are the ingredients from my Hydrating Conditioner bottle:

Water (Aqua), Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Stearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Cetrimonium Chloride, Divinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, Benzyl Benzoate, Fragrance (Parfum), PEG-45M, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, VP/DMAPA Acrylates Copolymer, Hexyl Cinnamal, C12-13 Pareth-23, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, C12-13 Pareth-3, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citric Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Asorbic Acid, Ozokerite, Hydroxyethyl Behenamidopropyl Dimonium Chloride, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, Limnathes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, PEI-10, Synthetic Wax, Propylene Glycol, Phytantriol, Retinyl Palmitate, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil

Can anyone tell if there are proteins in the conditioner? It doesn't look like there are any, but I'm not sure. My hair is protein sensitive and I think the lack of proteins is one reason my hair responds so well to the conditioner.

I think LiQWD will send sample packets of their products if you request them (at least they did a couple of years ago when I first started using the conditioner).

Thank you. No protein: mostly cationic surfactants, natural oils, silicones and the humectant glycerin. If your hair is dry and damaged, my instinct would be the glycerin is the star, maybe the jojoba and the pH.

Thanks! I wasn't sure about the banana extract and I don't know what many of the other ingredients even are. I probably would have been a little hesitant to use the conditioner if I'd seen the ingredients list before trying a sample on my hair and seeing how well it worked for me!

I just sent them an email asking if they have sample sizes available for purchase and if there is a salon near me. I am always on the lookout for new products for hair. I need sample though as it is a chunk of change to purchase the full size that I could end up not liking.

I used a body cream with banana extract in it years ago, it was some of the best cream I've ever used, wish I could still find it, it was expensive but very hydrating! so perhaps it does help the hair as well. I also wish I could remember the name.

Let us know if you remember the name of the body cream, Tiny. I'll look for the inclusion of banana extract from now on.

Frodo, that's how I ended up receiving complimentary samples. I wrote to ask if they sell mini sizes of their products and they offered to send me a trial size (it was a packet) of the conditioner and shampoo. Hopefully they're still offering the samples. I do wish they sold 2 oz. or 4 oz. sizes, too, because I'd like to give some as gifts during the holidays.

When you order from them, they also send generous samples. I can't really say if their other products work well or not because I think almost everything else that I've tried has some kind of protein in it and even if it was the best thing ever I wouldn't be able to tell because my hair usually rebels against protein.

Renata,

I actually think it was from Perlier! The prob was you got a "small" tub for 29.00 (I think)! It was some of the best cream I've ever used, but using it after every shower, 2x's a day, thats too much for a few weeks worth of cream.

Tiny, I have used the Perlier banana velours, too! You can get it cheaper
