As we know, Paula's Choice makes several exfoliants at varying concentrations?
How did you find the right one(s) for your skin? What steps or process did you do to narrow down the choices?
Was it system of trial-and-error, or did you go by recommendations from others? Alternatively, did you look at the ingredient list(s) and decide from doing that, or did you do some other type of research?
Also, which PC exfoliant(s) do you use, and what changes have you noticed in your skin thus far? |

Well veronica, what are you looking to treat? Paula says that BHA's are better for acne prone skin and AHA's better for sun damage and aging.
I personally can not stand Paulas BHA 2%. I used it for years and it took me that long to figure out that it was her product that was causing chemical burns on my skin every few months.
I can use much stronger AHA's (20% etc) almost daily with no issues like I had with Paulas BHA.
I have thought about trying it again though and if I did I would go for the 1% BHA liquid or lotion. |

Yikes, teago.
What sort of problems did you experience with her exfoliants? |

I've had the opposite experience of Teago.
They are absolutely essential to my skin and it is because of the bha 2% liquid that my blackheads are almost completely gone! (I'd say about 95% gone though I think they're mostly just large pores which you CAN'T shrink no matter what.) I would start off with the lowest strength and the base that is appropriate to your skin type (lotion - dry skin; gel/liquid - oily/combo) and use it for AT LEAST 6 months (it does take time for the bha to get results due to so many layers of skin). If there's no improvement, then move up to a stronger and/or more frequent application.
Start applying every other night, then bump to every night, then twice a day, then higher %, etc. But like any skincare, you really have to try it out to see if it works out for you since everyone's skin is different |

When did you begin having problems with enlarged pores?
For me, I began noticing my enlarged pores when I was middle school. They were around my nose, and they slowly spread to my cheeks. |

Every couple of months I would break out in what I know now to be basically chemical burns. I could not use anything except water and basic sorbolene cream untill it calmed down.
A lot of other people have had success but its just not for me. Ill stick with my glycolics! |
