Hi!

After having a very wine -y dinner out with my partner, stopped to get cat food at Walmart which I rarely ever go to, prefer shopping elsewhere but in my stupor I allowed my sober partner to take me there...found myself in beauty aisle which was coincidentally next to cat food area?? and I saw this gadget ! Bought it promptly and wore it in bed that night while clutching a giant glass of ice water and watching bobs burgers on telly. It got warm, my sensitive skin didn't like that. I've not had the guts to try it again. Also the 'countdown' aspect irritated me a little

I chalked it up as a bad decision purchase...especially since I've read some really conflicting ideas about led's...red light therapy that I forgot about that night! Neutral

Hope others chime in too

(Hope I'm doing this correctly - this is my first post here.)

Call me crazy, but I think I've seen some subtle changes, although I can't be certain if I can attribute them to this or to all the other stuff I'm doing. But I've been dermarolling per Dr. Setterfield's guidelines and using LightStim (and gobs of goop and potions) and hadn't seen that much change until I tried this.

I was skeptical (and am still not really sold) because I have a concern about how few lights there are -- compared to the LightStim, for example. In fact, I was going to order DPL panels with even more infrared bulbs. I've fallen off with the Light Stim because of the time it takes -- I use it ALL over my face.

I also don't know the nm or joule output of the mask. But we'll see.

Ultimately if I feel it works, I'll keep forking out $30 a month and saving 45 minutes a day.

What are your impressions of this?

I know this is an older thread but hopefully someone will chime in. I bought an illumask and used it 20x with no results. However, I'm thinking there are just too few lights. Thinking of hacking it and adding more lights. As far as the 30 uses goes, LED light are supposed to have thousands of hours of lifespan so it's definitely a battery drainage issue. I just don't know where in the world to go for advice on assembly....

Had no idea what this was, followed a link to Amazon reviews. Some people were changing the batteries and then resetting it. There was a fairly lengthy explanation in one of the reviews on how to do it that you might want to check out, although I couldn't understand it and neither, it seems, could most of the people who tried it. The rationale for limiting the device to 30 uses was that, apparently, the wavelength or power output (can't remember which) couldn't be guaranteed to remain at the proper length or strength after that.

So I posted on instructables asking if it were possible that the lights would just lose intensity after that short a period of time. In short, the response was that LED's have a VERY long lifespan so that definitely isn't the issue. (Unless the loss of battery power is the cause.)
