I have a bottle of 50% glycolic peel that I never seem to have time to use. I'm wondering if I can add it to lotion and use it daily. Would the math be so simple as 2 parts peel to 8 parts lotion to make a 10% glycolic lotion. I'm pretty new to DIY so I may be way off here. I am wondering about adding it to my SB protect and Restore to give it an added boost. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Anyone? Any other ideas for adding it to products. It is buffered. |

I think it would be too strong and don't forget about making sure the pH is right. |

And some actives interact with glycolic acid, either increasing irritation, rendering one useless, etc.
I personally would not mix them....if it could easily be added, I'm sure Dr. Pickart would have already done it! |

The Garden of Wisdom has a lactic acid toner recipe in which you add the peeling solution to distilled water, and a few other ingredients (not actives). It is a great recipe and is very easy to make. I wouldn't recommend adding the peeling solution to anything with actives in it though especially not Copper Peptides, you could end up with some serious side affects. I'm not a doctor but it is something that any DIYer would have to consider before taking the risk. I'm definitely not encouraging it but if you do decide on going that route please update me with your results. |
