Hi! I just wanted to tell you my experience with Acai juice. I decided to start taking Acai because I read it can help with weight loss. I took it for about three days once in the morning.

My boyfriend and I went on a vacation to an rather hot place. I wore sunscreen all day and when I got to the hotel my face was bright fire engine red! I was totally freaking out because I've never had this happen before! I thought maybe it was due to the fact that I was in the extreme heat!

Then I starting thinking did I take anything new lately? I had started taking the Acai juice and Vitamin K. I decided to stop taking the Acai Juice and I haven't had a problem since. I've also been outside in the hot weather and didn't have a problem!

I thought I'd post this just in case any of you were thinking about adding Acai to your regime.

Wow! I am so glad I just read this! I was going to start taking acai! Thanks a lot for the heads up! Chicago is soooo hot in the summer and my face is always flushed and sweaty as it is.

How long did it last, just out of interest?
You poor thing, that must have been a proper scare Shock

I wonder if yours is an atypical reaction SkinCareJunkie, I checked for typical side effects on a few sites and nothing like what you experienced???

http://www.webmd.com/diet/guide/acai-berries-and-acai-berry-juice-what-are-the-health-benefits

Studies show that acai oil may be a safe alternative to other tropical oils used in beauty products such as facial and body creams, anti-aging skin therapies, shampoos and conditioners, and other products. When acai oil is processed and stored long-term, the antioxidant levels remain high.
Do acai berries and acai juice have any side effects?
If you have pollen allergies or have a known hypersensitivity to acai or similar berries, you may want to avoid this fruit. When eaten in moderate amounts, though, acai is likely safe.

I wouldn't be scared to try Acai. I just wanted to warn everyone in case this happened to them. Sometimes my face gets irritated but this was different. My face was fire engine red!

I am sorry it stinks, I have been lucky with food but seasonal allergies are just getting worse year by year, and in Florida there is always something in bloom! Yippie!!! Drug allergies are my other nightmare most all antibiotics cause me to break out in hives and head to the ER. I really feel for anyone with any allergies.

I feel you DM! Have you thought about trying Acupuncture? I was getting Acupuncture for pain. I was just getting into the Allergy portion but my BF had to move. It was actually on the news one night talking about how it has helped a lot of people.

One thing that they do is strange though they put something in your that has a word on it, say pollen for instance and when they try to push your hand down it will go weak if your allergic to it. I know it sounds crazy but like they said on the news it has worked for a lot of people! I'm going to try it if I ever get my other problems taken care of. Who knows when that will be LOL!

I hear you on that SkinCareJunkie, I am very open minded to things like that, I don't care how crazy it sounds if it works I am all for it! Like you once I have other things in order I might have to give it a go! Smile Thanks BTW! This year has been exceptionally bad for allergy sufferers. Sad
